Thanks you, Derek...you have answered all my concerns at the end. I hv a large collection of yet to be edited photos in hard disc and I hv done a few solo exhibitions. 90% in monochrome. Published a book in 2008 in memory of my late parents. It has 2 sections...first section was the photos taken by my late father in the 50’s and the second was my own, in the early 80’s, using the budget camera, a Russian made Zenith. Its Carl Zeiss 50mm lens was awesome. I hv been watching yr episodes since I gone back to using Olympus sysyem. My first camera was an Olympus OM1 which I bought in Bedfordshire in 1978.

Glad to hear that you found my programme of interest and that you have preserved your parents photography.
I've been thinking about my large collection of unseen images as well as I fast approach my 70's. The hard drives will probably end up in landfill along with about 25 years worth of my travels in digital pictures,

We certainly need to make preparations to safeguard our images after we depart this life.
I'm just an advanced amateur. I enjoyed this video.

Glad it was helpful.
I have no worries if someone goes to all the trouble to "get" one of my photographs, at my old age, it's kinda like a compliment. I also stick to only photography related comments and such. Even my KZread channel is no swearing, no politics, and safe for kids! Cheers!

Photographers sometimes get a little overprotective about images to there detriment.
Excellent sharings of tried and true experiences creating a nice roadmap, Derek. Thank you for your willingness to share your work and your vision. Your last portion was exactly what anyone should hear regarding the work that they feel is either, beneficial to those who share a like passion for the visual memories and the work it took and should continue. But, for others, it may be the simple and loving gesture of gifting it to ones heirs a legacy of love from you to them and other generations. A very helpful and compassionate offering, this video has been! Thank you, sir...

Thank you for your comments, it is appreciated.
Somewhat gloomy thoughts at the end there, Derek, but practical nonetheless. With my 83rd birthday approaching, I've wondered what will happen to my own (far less professional) KZread channel when I'm gone. I've made one of my sons a manager of it so that, with luck, he'll continue to maintain it, no doubt making comments no longer possible as there's no way he could answer them. Thank you for another fascinating video.

Yes, it is a sad fact that I see from time to time and quite recently and had I not stepped in, the pictures would have been recycled! Fortunately, she did several Blurb online books about her travels and they are being kept by her family. This also demonstrates that if you do something positive about your pictures in a public way, they stand a better chance of outliving you.
David Thorpe comes to mind when off the the here after, his channel is still up.
