PHOTOGRAPHY BASICS | Equine on location
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Learn to shoot beautiful Equine Portraits on location at a Yard and Stables with top UK Horse photographer Emily Hancock. Emily guides you step-by-step through her process for conducting a portrait session with a client and their horse on location at their own yard, one of the most common scenarios when photographing with horses.
In this film Emily shows you simple but effective shots that can be done using the stables, a guaranteed location that allows you to shoot even if the rest of the yard is limited and also allows for greater control of the horse if required. This can be a great place to start a shoot, or if the weather is poor, it allows for a good variety of images. Emily also explains why she tends to avoid shooting in barns, with limited light and large amounts of clutter you could end working very hard for shots the clients tend not to buy.

Thanks for sharing this session. The tips shared were very helpful.
So many negative comments. This was really helpful, thanks - great to see Emily's process of interacting with horse, rider, and helper (with cameos by the dog). Also good to see the speed with which she works - never exhausting either subject, equine or human, but working the location in small chunks of time. Thanks again.

@All Eyes On You I see four, complaints about no settings shown, horse and owner not liking each other(?), presenter's voice, hitting the horse(?)... all irrelevant IMHO.
Great tips 👌

Glad you think so!
Would have been perfect with some idea of equipment and settings used but already very helpful regarding poses and location.
Thanks for so much inspiration!
I would love to know your settings for this shoot....thank you so much
Your video was super, and I image you are very experienced with those outstanding photos but as a beginner, I'm on edge with my nerves whilst you hold the camera 🤣 main rule I was thought is to always have some form of strap on to secure the camera from dropping . Great photoshoot! Much appreciated and I cant wait to put your advice to use!
Loved this thank you.
Really helpful thankyou!!
What were your camera settings?
Great pics but not very helpful without talking about equipment and settings.
Lovely video. Great shots.

Thank you so much 😀
Very informative
super
Beautiful results and legit skills shooting horses with people. Very nice colors, no doubt the photographer was happy when she realized what she had to work with in regards to the mom.
Lens and camera settings, please?
How can we show horse big?
Nobody noticed how many times she hits the horse? ....
Love how the photos look so harmonic but the horse and owner don’t seem to like each other at all.... great video tho‘
It says "Learn to shoot beautiful Equine Portraits", but nothing was taught, was it?
