Photographing My Favorite Town in Washington

This week, I venture to one of my favorite towns in Washington, North Bend. This town is a hub for all things outdoors and a gateway to the Cascade Mountains. Many of my favorite hikes are only a few miles from this iconic Washington location. I was shooting Portra 160 through the Pentax 6x7 and walked away with some of my favorite photos I've taken in a while! Enjoy!

Just WOW. Another awesome video. Are you sure you don’t want to become a professional drone operator? The drone shots are absolutely documentary quality. 9:28 is the shot I like the most. The composition with the flowers, the river and the mountains in the background combined with the depth of field is just amazing. Also great to see you get to shoot more and more cool portraits of random strangers like you said you would 😎 Thanks and keep on spoiling us 😇

Haha yeah long hours, boo asscrack of dawn 🤣🤣🤣 But you gotta do it to get your shots in 😅 This was a fun video! Love the train chasing. Little mountain towns are such a treat to wander around camera in hand. My favorite place in Washington state is definitely Kirkland. Birthplace of Costco, the best store in town! Can't get enough of that Kirkland signature. Just kidding. I'm from BC and it's a shame I haven't yet explored Washington wilderness. I have peered into the Cascades from Skagit Park, right on the border. It's a sight to be seen.

Excellent video, new to your channel sonim working my way through. My wife and i made the journey from the uk to North bend back in 2014. Me were doing a weeks road trip from our base at a family members in Vancouver bc. North bend and snoqualmie were must stops as we were on a twin peaks pilgrimage. The pie in the diner was delicious

What a GREAT video!! Your drone videos are quite good. Congratulations on the mustache guy photo. I think it was a great portrait! Lastly, what a great sponsor today. My wife and I were discussing your music as we watched the episode. Your music is something I would hang around a bar and listen to. I wish you could convince some of the people you took a camera head strap photo with at cameras and beer to change their crap music. 🤮 Once again, congratulations on stepping out of your comfort zone.

I don't know how he keeps hitting the "mirror up" switch on his Pentax 67, which is now a running joke here. I've shot such camera since 1985, and I think I did that twice. Otherwise, when in collage in the mid-1960s, I had a roommate from North Bend (in Seattle for school). He went home for the weekend every weekend without fail. he was a fishing fanatic. His family owned a local sporting goods store. His secret fishing spot was out the back door of the store, which was between the main street of town and the river. He fished off the back porch for rainbow trout - big ones. Fishermen came from far away, bought supplies, and then went into the back country to catch the "big ones". Apart from fresh paint, it doesn't look like the place has changed much in 60 years.
