Photographica Camera Fair 2022! In Which I Buy Some Stuff!

The Photographica Camera Fair was a great place to visit - so much film photography gear in one place gave me a very funny feeling, and whoever said film is dead was certainly misinformed!
Anything and everything you can imagine is here - Nikon, Leica, Olympus, Canon, Fujifilm, Minolta, Konica - plus loads more! I was tempted to buy some stuff too that I'll soon review on the channel - find out what it is in the video!
The mailbag episode will be in two weeks - sorry for the change of programme!
Many thanks to subscribers and patrons - a heartfelt thanks to you all!

Thanks for sharing the trip. I haven't been to a camera show in decades. I've really been pleased at the way film has been making a comeback these last few years. I haven't been delving into film very much because of low budget (plus I'm in the expensive process of moving,) but I'm hoping as it increases in popularity, more companies will be encouraged to release film again, bringing down the price a bit. I actually still have a fair bit of film left over from the 90's, but am still hunting for the best way to develop it once I shoot it.

I enjoyed the trip out with you. Thank you for sharing once again from a house bound photographer. Just had a double eye operation on my viewfinder eye so hopefully I will be getting back into photography after a 3 year break. I used to have a Lomo clockwork camera back in the 80’s which took surprisingly good photographs for a guesstimate range camera. You could get about 5 frames a second if you had a quick shutter button finger! Yes, L39 mount - and of course it didn't go to the moon as I said as the Soviets never got there after their massive rocket exploded on the launchpad. The camera did get into space though! A real mix of tech there - rocket engines and digital guidance systems, exotic metals, cutting edge electronics - and a clockwork camera! Very cool!

Unfortunately, I'm about 250 miles (sticking with the imperial units)) from the events here at home so there's about the same chance of being in London. Last best buy was a Voigtlander Perkeo III with original case, instruction booklet and matching lens (Color Skopar 3.5) hood, equivalent price in gbp about 45 pounds (and in excellent condition). And honestly I might have made the same choice if I was there. I'm actually kinda surprised that I haven't ended up with one yet, probably only because of difficult repairs and photo lab unfriendliness. So far those concerns have prevailed when I saw them for sale online but I have a feeling it would be much harder to resist in person. Will's In Pictures 1930's spiral bound satirical photo book about Hollywood is a treasure, and Mortensen, a world of his own, who I believe has influenced David Lynch, and who Ansel called "the anti Christ" has no peers. That friend just says "I can loan you the money" and then your dreams and fantasies can come true. I had a friend like that that would lend me money for stupid purchases. Its how people egg you on to do stupid stuff. In your younger days alcohol might have been the primer, and your friends hyper masculinity egging you on to do "high risk behaviours".
