That’s very rare for a sow to have 5 cubs. I know with black bears 3 cubs in a cycle is rare. Speaking of rarities I had the privilege of seeing not just one albino deer but an entire family of deer that were all white. The only one who wasn’t white was a little button buck running to keep up with his family. I had been on a cruise ship for several months, working on board in the galley as a chef and was home on vacation. My friend a landscaper had several rental properties he tended to for a realtor. I was home for two weeks and he asked if I could help him with his work. He told me several weeks before about the albino deer and I’m grateful God blessed me with the opportunity also

Kathy: Yes, that has been known to happen. Even when two sows run into one another it isn't unheard of that a cub get confused and leave with the wrong mom. Since they already have cubs of their own they will care for the adopted cub as if it were theirs. Whether or not they even notice they have an extra mouth to feed is unknown.
