Wow, Dawn! You totally nailed it with so little words. YES, that is what it does for me too. After I broke off my engagement I would throw on my sneakers and run to this with tears streaming down my face. This song was like a healing balm to my broken heart.

I believe it's a drum machine on the original recording. Later, the song was so good... the need for a drummer became obvious. Let me say that to drum for that long, that fast, with that precision... is really not easy. The beat is quite fast and... almost 6 minutes of it... Congrats. Great job he did.

Some say love is a burning thing That it makes a fiery ring Oh but I know love as a fading thing Just as fickle as a feather in a stream See, honey, I saw love, You see it came to me It puts its face up to my face so I could see Yeah then I saw love disfigure me Into something I am not recognizing See the cage, it called. I said, come on in I will not open myself up this way again Nor lay my face to the soil, nor my teeth to the sand I will not lay like this for days now upon end You will not see me fall, nor see me struggle to stand To be acknowledged by some touch from his gnarled hands You see the cage it called. I said, come on in I will not open myself this way again. You see the moon is bright in that treetop night I see the shadows that we cast in the cold clean light I might fear I go and my heart is white And we race right out on the desert plains all night So honey I am now, some broken thing I do not lay in the dark waiting for day here Now my heart is gold, my feet are right And I'm racing out on the desert plains all night So some say love is a burning thing That it makes a fiery ring All that I know love as a caging thing Just a killer come to call from some awful dream And all you folks, you come to see You just to stand there in the glass looking at me But my heart is wild, and my bones are steel And I could kill you with my bare hands if I was free

Absolute poetic musical perfection that hits me so square straight into my heart and leaves me limp with emotion. This beautiful bittersweet masterpiece crept up on me without my knowledge as after my subconscious heard it play on my car radio a number of times, one day I find myself pulled over with tears pouring out of my eyes wondering who did this song, what it was, and mesmerized by the power that it had over me. When the expression of words, music, and emotion come so perfectly together it's quite a magical thing. This song is magical, and so incredibly wonderful.

This song came into my life unexpectedly and I am addicted to it. Not so much for the words, but the melody captures my heart and soul because it is for someone I love deeply and endlessly, being far apart and not able to touch each other that grips my heartstrings and I only wish someday I can show this person the love I have for him will never die, never fade and I miss him every minute of the day and through eternity. I have never opened up my heart this way to anyone and he has mesmerized me and holds my heart and soul.

The perfect song about the heartbreak that never heals. Watching the performance, it sucks to know somebody else really gets it like that, but also in a way comforting to know that one is not the only so situated. The cage it called, I said "come on in." EmileBea1 """DARE""" me? And LO! Not even THAT but a """"TRIPLE"""" ?!?!? Alrighty then, I will. But, YOU must come up with a TITLE! And one line. Can go anywhere in the song but, yep~ One. Little. Line. Oh and btw MAKE IT INSANELY *EPIC!* No pressure, just doodle something in the vein of... LAYLA ! p & S~ i already HAVE several 'parts' of this 'song of the ages'. AND WOWOWOW WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?! As usual i stayed up, and as i was heading to sleep about 7:45AM my friend calls, HIS friend has an old Fender amp and wants info- can I WAKE DA HEKK UP and drop every ting and come over? by 8:30 no later? OK fine. And ever since then i look at the clock an it says HOURS EARLIER THAN IT SHOULD!!! WTF. That, might not even be a bad thing but, DAMNIT HOW'D THAT HAPPEN ANYWAY??? LOL???? Like now

lordsardonicvids In the movie by Gwen Stacy, "The Amazing Spider Man" "We Have To Be Greater Than We Suffer" That song by Phosphorescent "Song for Zula" Plays. I think it played in that Diary Vampire movie too. Not sure but it reminds of the of that movie I heard it on that. My Brothers use to play albums of all sorts that you don't hear of much today. But he the old songs are making a come back. Dah something you can actually understand the lyrics of. (well sometimes)! How about "No Evanescence" My line is : You will always be my shooting star No matter where you are Evanescence means a state of lasting for a short time! like one moment a go and the nex....stars are stars & then they fall .. they are here then they are gone! The two lines I wrote about a shooting star can be used in a song too as a metaphore as I did here Well I guess you name it lordsardonicvids "Shooting Star" You will always be my shooting star No matter where you are No matter how much I wish my falling star You were never meant to come this far.

lordsardonicvids Heyyyy! What ever happened to the song you asked me to write lyrics to . That is what I wrote : "Shooting Star" You will always be my shooting star No matter where you are No matter how much I wish my falling star You were never meant to come this far.

EmileBea1 HEYYYY! !LOL!! That lyric there, it sounds like it could have been addressed to, or at least 'about'... LordSardonic, Alex. I know, probably that wasn't your intent, but that's how I read it. Well that's neither here nor there for setting music to, obviously! The song is still here, I added more to fill it out some, I, kind of connected it to, another piece i wrote, totally different so, that could either be a completely different 'section', somewhat like "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" has diff parts, as well. Probably I shouldn't over~complicate the thing and leave them as separate songs... but, idk. And you would definitely have to hear the music anyway, to at least offer an opinion to their suitability. I think, anyway. Not sure how that would be done. It can help to look at other songwriting 'teams' for their methods. For instance, Elton John & Bernie Taupin. As far as I know, Bernie just writes the words and then sends them to Elton, who just interprets, and writes music FOR it. There are soooo many ways to do that, there is no 'set way' or standard. Whatever works for one, may not work for another. Not too muddy it up, but, them's da rules, as I know 'em! And now, to break them! Muahahahahahaha....ha!
