Here I got my hands on a broken Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone.
The screen is busted and does not properly respond to touches, and the back side is also shattered. The note 9 is maybe an old device but it is still very capable in 2024 and if you have good pair of hands, it is worth a fix.
First of all start with removing the sim-tray and the S-Pen.
If you don’t mind cracking it, just pry open the glued back-side.
But if you want to be safe, you can use hair dryer to heat up the adhesive for slow and gentle prying with the included suction-cup.
The replacement screen comes with entire shell, so we will be transplanting all the parts from the old phone to the new.
Once you have opened the back side, prepare your little cup and gently start unscrewing all these tiny screws, and unplugging all these little plugs. Try to keep track of the order of things.
Keep unscrewing, unplugging, and removing all the parts until you have nothing left to take out.
The replacement-screen kit comes with all the necessary tools to do this task.
Conveniently, the screws are mostly same size, so, you will only need one type of regular Philips screw-driver here.
Battery-Adhesive can be stubborn, don’t let it win, but also be careful not to puncture the battery.
Once you have taken out all of the parts, now its time to transplant them into the new shiny shell in reversed order. There’s a lot of delicate parts, don’t do this if you have bear-hands. Check out relevant product links in this video description.
