I agree the burnt orange dial with the blue second hand is very striking. One small change for me would have been to have the black banding around the hands and the dial markers to be the same width - but seeing it that way might make me rethink that.

Interesting looking watch. I like it.

With the orange dials, both this and the Eagle Ray give me classic Doxa vibes. With this one, the lack of a functional bezel put it firmly in the "desk diver" category for me. That being said, I like the simplicity of the design, the wall cue of the bezel and hiw functional they've made the dial. Maybe the shovel indices are a little chunky for my taste but they don't detract too much. I LOVE the sword hands. Simple, stylish and useful. At that price point you've REALLY got to be a Phoibos fan because you're competing against Orient and Seiko etc. I think my Orient Mako 2 was £170. Maybe that's why the limited edition tag. Overall, I like it, even if I can't imagine when I'd wear it. Great work as always!

Not seen these before and I actually like the Eagle Ray in the side by side pic better . But nice looks like decent quality if a little pushy on the price . Thanks for the video .

This is a great review. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a very small dive watch KZread channel and the black dial is currently on the way for review. I also have the original Geat Wall Diver that I think is phenomenal. What I did confirm is that the bracelet from the original Great Wall does in fact fit this Great Wall 2. Took me quite some time to finally get that question confirmed as yes as I was always told no up until a few days ago. Great content Sir! I left a like. Take care.

I think the rubber strap that comes with it will solve that.

Looking at some of the chatter marks, perhaps ensure the tooling is sharp as the bezel edge looked a bit rough under the unforgiving eyes of the macro lens :)

Great review. I really like the orange and blue coordination. The dial color reminds me of a previous car I owned and the paint was called “Le Mans Sunset”. What are your thoughts of the date at 6? It definitely goes with the uniqueness of the brand. I personally like the leather band you had on it better than the stock rubber band. Again, enjoyed your video and appreciated the Timelapse showing the lume.

For what it's worth, I like that you use stationary shots of the watch in your review, and that you show all angles, so that the viewer can really get a good look at the details of the watch. Most watch review channels will have the reviewer holding the watch, with the watch bobbing jerkily up and down, side to side, as the reviewer subconsciously gesticulates during narration. More annoyingly, they tend to hold it primarily with the watch-face facing the camera, so that you can't see the whole watch and/or parts of the watch where you want to see specifically. So, kudos.

Thank you for this feedback, it is much appreciated. I like to think I try to do things a little different to other reviewers. I don't see why you need to see my face in these videos or my hands particularly the viewer wants to see the watch and hear my opinion. I am not afraid either to remove watches from the cases or even work on them if necessary. I am glad you have welcomed this so thank you for your comment.

I like it mainly because it has the same grunty bold look in the same way my seiko tuna can has, I’m not a fan of orange dials but I’d go with a black or green version, nice review though Mike.

I will admit that this week I bought the briefly reduced Pagani Design NH38 "Doxa" in the orange dial, I wanted a NH38 to complete the "set" of NHxx movements and I know other Doxa homages are better in some eyes, I quite like it and it has orange hehehe Will sit nicely with my Willard-o-like, my "Dirty Dozen"-o-like and my still in progress Cousin's cheapie NH34 Bell & Ross-a-like :D Also been snagging some Swiss Legends, grabbed some gems including a Pioneer flieger homagery and a neon orange Neptune which makes my wrist look like its been tango'd :)

I love the dial face, that orange really pops and I really like the baby blue accent on the seconds hand it goes quite well with the orange, though I think it would've looked cooler if they carried the baby blue into the hour and mins hands as well but that's a minor thing. I agree with you on the choice to put the lume on the back of the seconds hands seems odd. The only turn off besides the pricing is that I don't like the choice of wrist bands. Personally I've never liked those style of wrist bands to me it makes a watch look cheap imo. I'd much prefer to see a nice stainless steel divers style band especially at that price point! @14:10 ooooh I like that watch on the left!! Now if it came with a band like that, I would certainly consider picking one up! 👍👍

I get you on the strap. A bracelet would set this off better. Could make it quite heavy but the option would be good especially for the price. All watches are going up sadly some of the new £300 Seikos I have seen look pretty rubbish with cheap bracelets and just not looking as good as the finish and specs as many of these microbrands now.

The new great wall looks much better than the original one. I have a Phoibos Kraken and really love it. 🎉🕐🍸🍸

I don't like the first generation of the Great Wall. This one is a vast improvement and does show that Phoibos is evolving as they learn more about what the customer wants with the Phoibos design flavour. I really like the Kraken too I have the black dial one and the bracelet is astonishing.

It's a lovely watch, the dial is beautifully crisp and the castellations are quite aggressive, yet very functional if you are wearing gloves as a dive watch. But it's not really a dive watch is it? Or is it? Wearing a rubber strap in hot countries is an awful experience - your wrist can begin to rot by the end of the day. It would be nice to see this on a stainless bracelet.

I saw the ad for the Great Wall, a few days ago but decided against it. I don't like the cramped face, and the jagged bezel that may cut holes in your sleeves! (and the price!)

An orange "Chunkey Monkey" with shield? indices and castellations on a styled bezel?? - COSTALOTTA eh .. I also expect it will be a 'limited' edition on special one day.

I take it you dont like it. Its all about taste, for me its different and a nice watch for a casual wear. Price lets it down somewhat along with it being limited. Limited just limits the sales which in any business is not good practice. I think for £300 UK or $300 maybe 320 would be a good place for watches like this. For me though I just like that Phoibos do their own thing, like it or not that has to be commented given the plethora or homage inspired watches there are out there.

I think the watch body looks mostly amazing, don't like the logo, the name would be nice, I was thinking an option of the Greek alphabet version, Φοιβοσ, would be interesting. I like the bezel, reminds me of Panerai Submersibles. The needless leather strap would stop me buying this, me being vegan.....too many watches in the world to go against my principles. I might buy it second hand, you can't change what has happened, but you can do something about the present and future.

What is inside these watches? Seiko? Ah I think Miyota 9015..

Still a part of Europe just not in the EU there is a difference.

Nice concise review MB, but that is an ugly watch, Deffo not for me.....
