It's interesting how the pre-chorus section has 6 measure phrases: "I played all the games / and lost almost everything / now I talk to myself and it's quite surprising", while the chorus & verses use a regular 4 measure phrase. I love the back and forth between vocalists too - great duet 😁

This songs slaps way more now in the summer time. Why the hell wasn't this released in the summer. Phoenix is notorious for making summer soundtracks

My fiancé just showed this to me and reminded me that when we first started dating I said something like: imagine like a «Vampire Weekend and Phoenix collaboration?» My fiancé got me a engraved "Fior di Latte" case for my Airpods. Crazy that it happened. Just please keep making gems like this. We all love it so much, and I’ve listened to you both since I was 15-16. I’m 33 now, so you guys have been around half of my life up until now, and will still be. I gotta tell you also; I’m 31 months clean and sober from alcohol- and drug addiction, and you were there for me all the time I was alone. I will never turn to drugs and alcohol again, but I will always return to your sonic wonders. Thank you so much. Phoenix is my favorite modern day band. I first discovered them through Wolfgang and 1901 while in college and it blew me away. I met a great person, we fell in love and she introduced me to "It's Never Been Like That." I had an amazing summer which was accompanied to "Bankrupt!" Now I hear this song and it feels like Phoenix again will be a partner to my life and that makes me very happy. I think of how this band and their music has had such a positive influence on my life and it makes me want to cry - it's why we love and cherish the bands and music we do. -

Ahh. I love this sound. Brings me back to my teenage years in early 2010s * - * Can't wait for the album. Let's protect the indie bands!

Tonight they played it with Ezra live for the first time, end of their tour.

Saw them live in Nashville last week. AMAZING show. Killer musicianship. Go see/hear them live. You'll love that you did.

I have been a fan since reading a Daft Punk interview in 2001 when they were asked what there favourite album was and they said it was Phoenix United - I promptly went out and purchased it so good as I had just ended a five year relationship & I felt half the tracks were written for me , that was 22 years ago and they still sound fantastic

Eeeekkkkk. This was my introduction to PHOENIX... I'm still stoked I heard this song...and I keep playing it over and over. I've got to a point where I vocalise the bassline and the "chorus"...and the wife now loves it. :-) And you know what? I have a plethora of back catalog to go through now. 🙂
