I am sure the only reason Rick stayed open late the night before his grand opening is Caleb probably said he was on his way with six totes of product to trade in to help beef up the inventory for the store. Then Rick starts going through it all and sees how much damaged junk there is and I am sure he was very annoyed. Can't believe Caleb tried this crap with a supposed friend right before his big opening day. I guess his scumminess has no bounds.

this video is so cringe.... this not how you treat a friend especially with the grand re-opening is happening soon. Rick is looking forward to a very profitable day and Caleb is ruining it. He should have waited to do this trade.

Phoenix Resale is definitely the worst. What annoyed me the most is the reason he didn’t wanna get all the “bread and butter” games and consoles before the store even opened. His reason was “so people wouldn’t be mad at him”. What his reason should have been is maybe: A. So his supposed friend can have a great store opening and make customers happy Or b. so some customers can find some cool stuff to play. But no. Caleb is all about me me me. That part of the video showed his true colors. What makes me even more mad is the comment section on that video. All the blind people who absolutely worship this guy and his circle of friends infuriates me. Also one last note, Riff is such a sè,lł oû,t. The guy used to be anti reseller and once he realized reseller KZreadrs were taking off he jumped ship to them and left all the real gamers and collectors behind.

I have been a vendor in the Gaming Convention community for almost 10 years, and have seen Phoenix Resale’s “rise” in popularity firsthand. I have seen the way he has turned away from the small content creators he used to be friends with, and the way he uses his “celebrity status” to give him an edge up on getting first dibs at shows as well as pushing for deals. I understand we are all “resellers” for profit, but his business model of listing on Amazon helps those giant corporations and hurts small businesses, and the same conventions that people invest thousands of dollars and hours of work into.

Those Famicom Disk Games are their “sold” prices probably because they were tested in a disk system and works. Those things are notorious. They can stop working after sitting there for some time. Or worse, the disks contain a different game to the label since they can be re-written. I collect FDS, there is no way you’d pay money for them unless you are sure they work and contain the game their labels says so. Or have means to re-write the disks if they contained the wrong games.

And the disk systems themselves are even more fragile. The drive belts will probably go after a few years, even just standing, from new. Replacing the belt is easy, but you have to tune the drive read head each time which can take hours, or basically impossible if you don’t have the patience or following the wrong KZread video. The disks aren’t 3.5” either. Nintendo being way ahead of the time, with a dead end technology basically.

@@steviefreakinc Dude but honestly, out of all the resellers Chase is the one who, I believe, has built his business the right way. He rarely buys from conventions or stores which is the easy way. He goes to garage sales, other collectors and buys in bulk and does not rip off sellers or his fans. And he finds great stuff. I think there is not many street flea markets in his area so he is doing the best in his location. There may be some negative stuff but you have to really dig hard to find something in Chase. Still man, keep up the good work and dont make the resellers look good with poor research lol

As a self-proclaimed #GamingBeautician and preservationist/archiver, seeing those damaged games is insulting. I don't know who to blame for that. But if I was running a business, I would take off for the cosmetic damage. As a collector, since I got my first game, I hate how businesses and sellers sell damaged shells and labels for top tier prices. I am not going to pay mint prices for games that look like it fell in the toilet or chewed on by the family dog. If I can clean and restore it, sure, but I have always been honest with trades and sellers whenever I had to do restorations and even show pictures of my work. Plus, this was a douche move to bring all this in right before store opening. I am familiar with PR and what he does which is why I don't think I would ever do business with him but lately I have seen more and more resellers pulling things like this and as someone trying to collect and preserve physical media, this annoys me. I am going to be checking out other videos as well, but this is enough to make me not like resellers even more, especially when they don't have a store to maintain.

At least retro rick owns an actual store. So I cant hate to much on him. Imagine if Penis resale Spent 1million on inventory and sold everything for 3 million on amazon/ebay after ebay fees of 15-18% = 450k - 540k/year that he lost to Amazon. SO If Retro Rick can operate similar sells but in person.He profits that extra 15-18% instead of giving it to Amazon/ebay fees.... So Retro rick could/should be able to easily operate on 200-300k/year and easily have room for profit from his physical store for years to come.
