Phoenix 20cc Corsairs (2) and Seagull 20cc Yak 3U

Спорт

Dual Phoenix 20cc Corsairs and a Seagull Yak 3U rip around the pattern having fun. One of the Corsairs has a DLE 40 twin, the other a DLE 35RA.
The Yak has a DLE 20 for power. They are all nice and fast, but the Corsair with the DLE 40cc Twin is very fast and sounds awesome as it revs up an 18x10 Xoar Propeller.

Thanks. The Corsair with the DLE 40 has cutouts in the cowl on each side to allow for the spark plug and wire. The cut outs look like horizontal slots on each side.

@@TMacDo243 I8x10 or 19x10 are the ones I use on the 35RA. The 40 twin was running an 18x10, which is a bit under propped.

Wow man that thing rips.....I have one here not built yet and seen your review on TH. Was wondering how well that 35ra fit in the cowl?

The 35RA fit nicely. I made a cutout for the cylinder head and twin exhaust pipes. The cowl is mounted as far forward as I could get it without leaving a gap when viewed from the side.

Hi there nice vid how did you find building the plane? And how did you find the quality? Cheers from New Zealand

For the price it was worth it. Quality wasn't bad, but there were certain things that required attention. The wing fit was very tight.

@2101Striper hi thanks for replying do you still have the plane? Apart from wings bein hard to fit, how did you find mounting the 35ra?

Did you use flaps for landing ?

  • @2101Striper

Generally I use flaps based on wind conditions, wind speed component down the runway… No wind - I’ll use half or full flaps. Light to moderate wind - I’ll use half flaps. Strong wind - I don’t use flaps.

Take a look at the DA-35 dimensions and weight with muffler. Compare to the DLE 35RA. I suspect the numbers will be very close. If so, I'd say yes you can. Just keep and eye on the wing structure for cracks forming... and fix them.
