In this video, I will be showing you how I made a Simple Linen Tank using a Free Pattern:
Phoebe - Linen Tank Pattern PDF by fabrics-store.com
Simple but very Wearable Linen Tank. It’s light, breezy, relaxed and sure to keep you cool all season!
This Tank Top features: flat-fell seam and bias binding to finish the seams.
I personally don’t have a serger but I always make sure that my makes have a clean finish.
You can dress this up or down.
100% a versatile and essential staple for every wardrobe!
Its very hackable as well which is what I always look for in a pattern.
You can change up the neckline, shorten the shoulder or even make this into a dress!
You can also use different fabrics like georgette, silk, viscose or cotton.
Definitely a must have piece for your wardrobe!
I hope you enjoy and get inspiration for your next make!
Pattern:
I just want to add that the armhole part is a bit snug so make adjustment if necessary.

Liked and subscribed! I just found you and this tank is exactly what I was looking for! Your explanation is clear - and thank you for showing the bias tape making, how to sew it etc. My only sadness is...I didn't find you till today. I was struggling on my own with some yt videos but it was very difficult for me. I have waited a long time to make my own clothes with handwoven natural cloth...thanks to you I'm on my way and within my budget! See you soon.

I just found your site. I do believe it is going to be at the top of my list of favorites. I dress very simple and classic. This tank will be a perfect addition. I choose patterns that can be used over and over, and the look of the garment changed by the type of fabric selected. Thank you for sharing.

Marie, this was great. You have begun a wonderful channel. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to throw in a couple of thoughts for consideration by the new sewists. 1 - I like method 2 of joining bias. It's neat. 2 - you can use a water-based glue stick like Elmer's for basting. If you press it, it's very secure during sewing. It will wash out and doesn't gum the needle. 3 - I use a pressing guide for hems. I learned this from Linda Lee of the Fashion Workshop. Cut a long strip of poster or file folder in the desired width. Your iron won't hurt it, and it won't harm your fabric. Wonderful tutorial. You're a cute model and chose some good patterns. Good luck with your channel. Kay from Dallas, Texas

PS - always test! Try the basting glue on a scrap before using on the actual project. You know that, but a new sewist might not think of it. Test adhesives, pens, iron temperature, etc.

I just found your channel and I think you are an amazing teacher; I will be joining you regularly. I have one request and one suggestion. If there is any way to show conversions to inches and yards, that would be great (American here). Also, for us beginners, it would be so helpful if you would use a fabric that has a pattern that we can clearly see the right and wrong sides of the fabric. Thank you so much and once again, great teacher.

Thank you for the suggestion Debi! I will try to use fabric that has pattern but clothes I film are usually clothes for my wardrobe and I don’t usually have patterned clothes😅 Im basic like that hahaha. I will put masking tape on fabrics that does not have pattern to indicate the right side. Hope that helps 🙂
