Phnom Kulen National Park, Waterfall & Reclining Buddha. Siem Reap, Cambodia 2019 #8

Whilst deciding what to do in Siem Reap apart from Angkor Wat, we decided to take an organised tour to Phnom Kulen National Park to visit the waterfalls and explore the national park and the biggest reclining Buddha in Cambodia.
Phnom Kulen Waterfalls are approximately an hours drive from Siem Reap, and our guide initially took us to see the 1000 Lingas, with sophisticated Shiva Linga carvings covering its floor.
Then we headed up to see the Big Buddha in the main village complex on Kulen Mountain.
Finally we headed to the Kulen falls, which although not the rainy season, still proved to be be a worthwhile visit.

Phnom means mountain in Khmer. This place is where the Khmer kings got the stones to build Angkor Wat.

That’s right. Didn’t they build canals just to float the stone to Angkor?

I wouldn't wear a bikini there. The Cambodian people are very modest in dress. Even as a guy, my wife, who is Cambodian, would not let me go shirtless outside the hotel swimming pool. In fact, I never wear shorts out on the street. It's just kinda offensive. Remember that all of Ankor is sacred. Arkun (thank you).
