Trey is as connected to his guitar as Jimi was in 69. Just amazing

clifford ball is my favorite sound of all time. treys guitar tone is ridiculous. the combo of his gt dual 75, cae 3+se, tube screamers and Ross are going full aggressive. meanwhile Fishman is crushing his snare. 96 phish imo is as aggressive as it gets. 94-99 are my peaks. but clifford ball is like my church guide

Taylor White someday I need to have a nerd fest with a guitar player like you. Those years were insane but I do love the mutron the last few years. The evolution of treys sound is fascinating to me. And as a drummer I love the callout on fishmans snare. This one sounds deeper than recent years. Nevertheless his snare rolls are still epic.

This is one of my favorites as well. The Lizards, Guyute, bouncing around the room, & Wading in a velvet sea are also some good ones.

I was at this show. I really wish I hadn't taken as much acid as I did. Tripping in the midst of 90,000 people isn't really all that enjoyable...especially because you start to wonder what percentage of those people in attendance are dragons. It kind of took away from the music. Oh, and we forgot where we parked.

Evan S I was at the MSG 12/31/2016 show, they had special dancers and stuff because of New year's.... I took some acid and 100℅ thought the dancers were dragons. we've all been there. hahaha

My fisrt phish show was a three day festi in indy set up our tent in daylight everythig looked normal 5 or 6 hits and many hours later all the booths were up we didnt figure out where we were until the sun came up the next morning still fun tho

My first Phish show was 6/15/12 and I took two hits and 30 minutes later during It's Ice, the entire stage looked like a dragon. Then it became a battle of me vs. Phish and eventually I surrendered and Phish won the battle

Andy S same. 2 years later... (edit- I was at this one though.) My first is sugarbush in 94. Some of the best times of my life, bar none.

Was there and loved it. Greatest show ever. People who go to show now don;t know what it was about.

I've been to 3 shows....2 in '99 and one recently at Burgettstown. I live near DC and will be there also. Enjoy the show!

I don't know who put a comment on You Tube using my account. I really wish people could have the commom curtisy to be grateful that they are being allowed to use my computer and in return NOT post random (for lack of a better word) crap, i.e. THEIR opinions. Doing this with full knowledge that THEIR comments will show up as if they are reflective of MY thoughts and opinions. This is a issue I find becoming more & more prevelant I find more people who seem to believe that they are entitled to WHATEVER they want or WHATEVER they think might make them happy at that moment. With NO regard, mind you, for the ramifications that their actions create!! NO ONE is entitled to WHATEVER they want at WHATEVER the cost perhaps because daddy hit them or mommy made them eat their vegetables! Yet, as of lately, I'm finding such behavior existing amoung more people than not! If some of these people attempted to actually work and begain to purchase (with the $ they worked for) property and have someone like themselves do that to them we'd see a change in the tides! Until then you'll get what we have here! For the record, I attended the Clifford Ball I believe in 1997. Unfortunatly, I have no expertise to comment further regarding continual venues there. (Rebecca speaking)! Hey, at the least have a good laugh at my empassioned ranting on our "freeloading brethren"!!! Perhaps you might have some enlightening commentary to share with me as well!

Went to that show and it was the greatest ever. People who have just seen them recently dont know what it is about. That was a jam and the crowd was incredible. Best time of my life.

on this particular song, he switches scales. for instance, on the solo, he starts in A pentatonic, switches to C, G, D and so forth. You just got to know your "modes" and which "modes" work inside the main A pentatonic all throughout the neck. Also the comp and tube help to sustain and give time to think about where and what to do next.

Oh yeah I almost forgot that makisupa was very nice to hear and the way they went into piper was def nice. So many hot parts of the show. I just liked the close as my favorite because everybody knew or hoped they'd bring it and they came through big time. I remember seeing kids from some lotus shows on the lawn after the show.( I had seen them sat or earlier that day on shakedown. We were trying to speak and couldn't even get sentences out. everyone just rocking huge smiles

Trey is a genuine genius

Phish shows were BEST in the 90's. Went to MSG this past week (first shows since Coventry) and the boys are getting old, and tame in their jams. Also, notice NOBODY in this crowd is filming the show on their cell phones!

Wish they would have another Summer Weekend Jam up in Maine!!!!

Sorry for the trip post. didn't matter if you didn't know where your friends or car was everyone was just on the same level. For me it was one of those shows where everything just goes right. Perfect state of mind, the songs you wanted, one of my favorite venues. Kung foo dropped a pretty nasty after party in downtown till 4am also. Sucks that I can't make to many more shows on this tour. Hoping for a late summer tour to follow

@ProtestTheMAC His phrasing works amazingly with the sound he has created using everything from his guitar selection to his compressors. When I hear Trey, I know its him immediately because of his sound. Without a signature SOUND you will never be a recognized guitar player. This man has earned the respect of Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton, remember that. Phish is one of the top 5 improvisational rock bands and I'd love to see you orchestrate this kind of jam with some of your friends.
