    Had my Billie for 2 years and find it a medium fast grower. It is one of my favorite philodendrons and is very easy to care for. Also use the hefting pot method to see if the plant needs water. Bamboo skewers are my other go-to low-tech water meter.

    Always happy to see you with a new video. I really enjoy your plant room; will you be doing an upstairs tour soon? Every time I watch your videos I discover more plants I need to make my life complete. All I need to make this come true is a conservatory and an inheritance from a long-lost relative…🌴

    Great video 👍👍 The Billie is definitely one of my favourite plants 🥰 I have been sprinkling diatomaceous earth on top of the potting mix of my plants & I’ve been having wonderful results with keeping all bugs at bay especially with my hoyas.

    Well it is a wild plant, not a cultivar. I much prefer botanical species over cultivars and billetiae and atabapoense are inexpensive for what they are. I hope spiritus sancti drops in price because I can't justify it's cost over an atabapoense.

    Should make a video on the soil mix During summer and winter These 2 are my favourite ones however I really struggle getting high light for these plants, I kind of keep them on the porch where you usually get bright indirect light, but in western India, around Mumbai the humidity is pretty powerful in the 70-80 range, however the temperature goes up to about 30-38'c in summer and in winter it's around 28-35'c. The heat really heats up the pots and I really have to literally water every 3 days to cool the roots. If I take the plant's inside there's a low light issue. Grow lights are a bit pricy and the ones you get cheap are those Chinese pink lights. 😂

  • @EverythingPlants

    @EverythingPlants

    2 ай бұрын

    I completely understand about the heat because in the summer here...I will have to water my succulents like every couple days, which is so different than the normal indoor care

Do you have any preferred sites that you can recommend for Canadians? Maybe doing a video on buying plants online could be an idea for you.

    Hi Jeff, Im little confused with billietiaes. Currently I have 4 different specimens, 3 of them I try to grow at home (av temp 18°C - lowest 14°C, highest 25°C, humidity 50-70%, southwest exposure) and they just don't want to grow bigger leaves, my cuttings/bought plants were always solid size but new growths are leggy and leaves are small (less than 10 cm) - this situation going on for 2 years, they receive plenty of light even some direct sun for 3-5 hours a day but only from exposed area. I have another specimen in the greenhouse and It serve no problem, actually came from miniscule cutting, but never backed down in sizing up (av temp 22°C, lowest 18°C highest 37°C humidity 50-80% south exposure with glass roof but double shading layer above and 3 shading layer on the side), That plant probably gets more time with dim light daily but it doesn't see any direct sun, main difference is the temperature and I felt like thats the key but I see you grow your specimen in not really hot environment so I just don't get it
