And God bless you too. Until an addict is brave enough to heal their own pain, that is sadly the legacy they give to others who love them. @@insatiablecuriosity2555 It's a horrible substitute. It is definitely better than heroin, but it has a longer half-life and is just as hard to stop. Methadone maintenance programs aren't actually treatment for the addict. They are actually designed to protect the community FROM the addict. By switching the addiction from heroin to methadone, the addict can be more functional so those programs do have some positive effects for them, but they remain addicts. What those programs actually do is lower the transmission rates of communicable diseases (leading to lower medical costs and increased community health) and the need to commit crimes to pay for their addiction (leading to lower rates of property crimes, petty theft, shoplifting, etc.). There has to be a better answer than this.

As children or young adults, could we be taught more truthfully about the nature of pain, and the many many ways in which it is experienced ? These can be such cataclysmic times in our lives. Folks in hollywood, like this guy, are the LAST people anybody should be praising, or putting on some fake pedestal. Most of them are not good people.

Anytime I saw him, (and I was a great fan, especially after Capote), he always looked like a slob. Red Flag right there. Unless you quit, the drug always WINS!!

Got a bit of a sour taste in my mouth after hearing what Mimi did. With all the means at her disposal, I think sending him away to be alone and live by himself was the worst thing someone could possible do in that situation. Even more so when your seeing the Red Flags all around from being in that kind of situation as a recovered addict, the only other worse thing she could of done was being his drug dealer. Many reasons why people become addicts is because they feel alone, their stuck in their own heads in a strictly negative manner, possibly experiencing PTSD from something traumatic that they have to drown their thoughts, feelings and actions any means necessary . regardless a sad story for everyone personally involved

Apparently, after Hoffman's death, Mimi's runs were countless. Even to this day, no one knows how many runs she achieved, but Philip's countless awards, which filled the island of Madagascar and the country Australia, never came close to her countless runs around the world. Countless....that which cannot be counted, is like Mimi who has not stopped running to this day. When she drops dead, we can finally count her runs! Which will be counted because they are not countless. Countless is the ineptitude and the size of the brain worm in the documentary writer-narrator's skull...which is infinity!

Wish I'd seen him in Death of A Salesman, too steep for the tickets, though I liked his last film role A Most Wanted Man. When it's time to go, it's time to go.

I don't get why so many people think that it's not normal to have fear or get nervous at doing "normal" stuff like hitching a bus or sub and getting little panic attacks.. everyone has this symptoms.. its actually not normal to have no depression and anxiety.. if you don't have depression and anxiety than you are dumb as heck! This symptoms just show you that you are not who you should be and that you are ready to find the source of this pain to manage to evoulv from it.. you are not alone! Actually there are more people like us than you would believe.. just look at their eyes in the streets.. and that's just how society functions so the system is rolling..
