Note that those are not descaling tablets. They just get rid of the oil build up.

we have had this machine for 1 year now, and this is my main tip to keep that cafe Barista coffee coming. You MUST use an oil cleaning tablet once a week, then run the same program without the degreasing tablet 3 times to flush the system. You MUST use the descaler liquid every few months if using RO water like we do, (for a deep clean). if using tap water or mineral water, use the descaler once a month. then flush as above. That's it if you want consistently great coffee. A little pricy yes, but still less than paying barista prices.

Nice video! I ran out of Philips Saeco oil remover tablets. Can I use other brands? like Cafiza cleaning tablets?

Hey Nayara, I apologize for the late reply. I didn't see your message. Thanks for watching the video. The machine will indicate on the screen the % remaining on your aquafilter. Once it reaches 0%, it will ask you to change it. Enjoy your coffee ! 🙂

Do you use soaps water when clean brew unit because I notice the grease also spotted in other area. Descaling video would be great. Thanks.

I never use soapy water. It's not recommended as the soap residue will stick to parts and change the taste of your coffee. Warm faucet water is good enough. Just take a good brush (like the one I use in my cleaning video) and make sure you are cleaning the brew group. Don't focus on the greasy areas as these need to stay greasy for moving parts. Let the brew group dry on your counter overnight and put back the next morning and it should be good to go.

I'll try to make a descaling video soon. I think it's time to deep clean my machine anyways 🙂

Thanks for the video. Have a question, my machine is showing that the aquaclean filter is at 10% so should I replace it now or wait till %10 is gone too?

You are welcome. So I'm on my second aquafilter. When the first one reached 0%, the machine will tell you on the screen that your aquafilter needs to be changed. Now what I have been using is Brita filtered water in the reservoir (plus the aquafilter) so technically doubling the filtration (don't know if that makes a difference lol) today, my second aquafilter has expired and instead of changing it, I just tricked the machine to think that I've installed a new one (just follow the on-screen information). THE ONLY REASON I DID THIS is because I'm still using Brita filtered water in the tank (Brita filters are cheaper than aquafilter). I might need to change it when it expires ( a second time ) . Hope that helps

@@mikeluv3773 thanks for the quick reply. I just did a full on cleaning for the machine, greased it and used the oil remover tablet and also changed the filter at 10% ( next time l wait till it gets to 0%) . I'll wash the machine under cold water every week or 2 and redo the full cleaning and maintenance every 3 months I guess

@@NinbAdam sweet. Now when you say clean the machine under cold water...you mean the brew group right? And if so, it has to be under warm water (to remove all coffee residue) as per manufacturer recommendation.

Then I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes mine doesn't click loud enough but is solid in place. As long as the brew group is not leaking and that it's solid in place when all good. when putting back after cleaning, ensure the arrow on the yellow dial (side of the brew group) is pointing at the arrow printed on the brew group itself. This will ensure optimal position. Hope that helps

R these cleaning tablets r food safe?

  • @mikeluv3773

The saeco cleaning tablets are made of powder and contain acid that breaks down the calcium and oil residues. As long as you rinse the machine through a shot (no coffee) , they are all food safe. (as per the saeco site and other coffee reference sites as well)
