@@luacoder3537 No. I'm saying you're lucky you got that Intellivue because they're so expensive obviously. I'd like to explain about myself. I'm 30, and I have many health conditions. I have a tracheotomy, and I am on a ventilator. I have CO2 problems. I have always loved patient monitors, because of my whole life in and out of hospitals, and because of the equipment I've been hooked up to. A couple years ago, I saved up, and bought me a Contec CMS8000 patient monitor, with all the standard functioning capabilities, plus ETCO2. I monitor my ETCO2 24/7 and I love my monitor. However, if I could get an Intellivue monitor, over my monitor, BOY would I do that in a heart beat. I require such extensive monitoring, and I have so many health issues, It'd help me. But I don't have enough money to get one of those. I LOVE the Intellivue monitor! I hope to see a reply from you soon, because I LOVE your videos!

Usually they don't have the QRS beep on (Heart rate) in the ICU, only in Operating room recovery and the OR itself. Depends on the hospital mostly. Not all monitors are the same but Philips Intellivue is used by a hospital near me.

@@luacoder3537 They ALWAYS keep the QRS tone on for me when I am in ICU. I always prefer it that way. If they don't turn it on, I do it myself. In other words, I want that QRS tone on, and It's always on when I'm there. I've even taught my Mom how to do it when I'm in ICU. She doesn't like the beep though, but I do.

Yeah, a lot of TV shows with hospital themes are dramatized. These monitors are pretty quiet, but they can be made louder with the volume setting. Usually in ICU's there's a lightbar outside every room that lights up if there's an alarm.

The transducer doesnt work like that, it works by isolating the blood pulsing through your arteries in gour finger by shining a light of a specific wave length and reading the return of the light through the other side of your finger. You can learn more about this, technology connections made an good informal video about oxy saturation monitors.
