Philips CDM9 CD Player transport issues

Ғылым және технология

The CDM9 CD transport of the Philips/Kodak Photo CD player has been swapped with a CDM9 of a CDROM based car navigation unit. Now the car navigation works fine but the problematic CDM is in the Philips CD player. The problem is as follows. There are difficulties reading TOC and the first few tracks. For higher track numbers playing and track searching work well. With lower track numbers the disc moves faster and the radial servo has to work harder. Might the permanent magnet of the swich arm have weakened? Perhaps the constant search action in the navigation's CDROM application contributes to this, or the high temperature in the car did. For now it is working with increased radial servo gain. This should never be changed in those players though. But changing the magnet (if that actually is the problem) is not as easy as adding one resistor. Maybe someone else has ideas about this.

Nice Video. Do you happen to know what error code 04 means? Somewhere I saw the phrase "too many TL", but I'm not quite sure what that might mean. Someone had suggested it meant "Track Loss Output Signal." I appreciate any ideas you might have.

I think you fixed it by going around a Dead Resistor.. The original was probably just DEAD.. I would have tried the same value... Great Video and Great Work! ! !
