PHILIPPINES: Surviving the jungle

In Subic, the indigenous Aetas continue to protect the rainforest and in return, Nature provides for them. For many years now, they’ve also been sharing their knowledge of the jungle with people outside their community.

sana may mga national holiday for THE AETAS, and all the indigenous tribes as a recognition for their roles and contribution in our history present and future. its better than celebrating some hoidays like a death of a certain politcal personality

There is an Indigenous People's Week in the Philippines... Very few know this. I think sometime in the last quarter of the year's calendar.

@@lynncooksandmore7201 i think its a month celebrqtion I once read about it but never not even once na itinuro or nabgyan importance sa school(the schools where I studied)unlike different holidays na klangan imemorize mo pa kasi lmalabas sa mga exam from elementary to highschool and bhira ko masagot ng tama hahaha. I had the opportunity to attend this training in 1988, while in the navy. Great training and I’ve used some of the skills taught to this day.

The seats also belong officially to the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines. I also believe the bushcrafts shown in this video are common in Southeast Asia.

A lot of Filipinos found safety here during the Japanese invasion WWII. The Aetes are skilled at hunting and killing quietly and the Japanese were afraid to pursue them too deeply into the jungles.

My dad was in the Philippine army in the Philippines and he learned a lot of survival skills. I am gonna be joining the U. S. Army when I grow up and hopefully I can learn from my dad's experiences.
