Hey thanks... yes we worked hard to get it into shape and it's looking even better now. The typhoon had virtually no impact on this house so we were very lucky!

Very classy people. I was shocked and disappointed at the condition of the house. Being a contractor myself, I always turn over the house to people spotless. So they don’t have to do a thing but move in. Anyway, it looks great now and you guys handled it very well.

We were in Canada while our home in Pangasinan was being built, our family kept it clean for us but we still had allot of unexpected surprises when we finaly came to see it. Two years later now and we are pretty well done with changes, with a pool too! I look forward to seeing your progress.

Well done and some great work on the cleaning side. I presume if you felt the Armstrong´s were responsible for this, you would have contacted them directly and we the viewer would be none the wiser. It´s difficult for us to judge how unclean the house inside was, given that there´s practically no video footage or was it limited to just the freezer and the sink? If the house was left unoccupied for a period of time without ventilation, it would not surprise me to learn that you needed to replace the wooden doors. I´m presuming they were warped. The humidity here is unforgiving. You already mentioned the mold which is the result of high levels of humidity. I´d certainly concur with you on the mess in the yard. It´s unsightly and disappointing to return your property and to see it in this state. It seems you´ve moved on. Well done! I wish you both a future full of happiness in your lovely house.

Thanks mate, thats a great offer! We pass th=rough Batac on the way to the airport in Laoag sometimes. At the moment we are here for two months and then heading back to Australia ... Kim gives birth in early March so plenty to get sorted back there. Our plan is to move here permenantly in Sept 24. Will yell out if we get through there again with some time to chat. Sorry for your bad luck, at least Richard will not do this to anybody else. He pretended to know how to build a house and if you were watching the videos of his build of the two story house I saw 100's of mistakes he made. First the rebar was never correct, on the columns and beams he did not compress the rings as you approach the intersection (joint between beam and column). The stair case had to much bar which gave no room for the concrete (too much is just as bad as too little). On the second floor, the floor rebar had spacing between bars over one foot (the steel deck does not do anything for support). This is why he did not polish the second floor as i cracked do to lack of steel. The first floor tie beams and staircase did not have rebar to tie to the first floor slab. He said the AAC was so great, but this is a security risk as he did not place any rebar in the wall.... Just drill a hole and grab a saws all cut yourself a new door. Now take a hollow block wall with vertical rebar ever block and a horizonal bar ever three courses. Good luck getting through that wall in a few minutes. I will stop here but as you can see he was a amateur and the people in the Philippines are lucky he is no longer building.

That’s why I don't want concrete because it gets dirty and it’s also high maintenance, it will also crack one day. It would be better if only pavers were laid, it would look more durable and elegant.

Me and my wife built a beautiful 15 million peso home in NAGA city Then we purchased an old resort on the beach in San Jose so we go between the two houses just like I did in US had a half house in the desert in a house at the river, but I can honestly tell you it is different here if we leave the house in NAGA For one week there is so much overgrown lizard poop the swimming pool is so dirty it’s crazy. I go home once a week and I spent 8 hours cleaning. Good luck 👍🏿

Welcome to Illocos , I moved ( part Time ) three years ago . We built a house in Tagudin . I never knew owning a home in a tropical climate had so many issues before this . We hired full time care takers and still have issues . Maintenance is the key and i find i have to paint some area every year . It must of been disappointing to see the home in that condition . I will have my own disappointments next week when we get there . Perhaps we will meet you one day ? Best of luck .

It's not advisable to built galvanized home today. All typhoons entering the country now a days are very strong yearly. It's all super typhoons

In regards to the A/C, when i visited my gf she had left the drain plug in it which was causing water build up. Is that something that might have been overlooked for the air con installation?

Hi Zac... thats a great thought however we checked that and it wasn't the issue. I think we have the bedroom AC replaced when we go back at the end of the year because it seems no-one can diagnose the actual issue. Thanks for the heads up though, we really appreciate it!!

@@TheTyrrellsVlog My son just bought a new house here in California with his Asian finance. If I recall that one in the video only cost you $100,000 dollars. My son just spent $1.25 Million dollars on his new home. When you include bank loan, insurance, property taxes PI and association dues his total monthly payment is $8,032 dollars a month. Maybe he should have moved to the Phil's where it's WAY cheaper! LOL One good thing is builders are required to provide a warranty if there are any defects.

This is soooooo bad! In the video filmed by the Armstrongs before, Richard said he's going to fix and prepare that house before they hand it over to you. The man does not know how to honor his words. So disappointing.

😞 😡 when I saw the state of the house and yard it made me so angry as well as sad, I honestly don’t know how people can treat someone else’s property this way especially when you have faith they will look after it. We have gone back and forth re using our current house as a investment property when we buy a new one but things like this always pop into my mind and it actually gives me anxiety. You have each other to March forward and at the end of the day it’s a lesson learnt

New to the channel. The place looks much better. To be honest, I was shocked to see what the place looked like. However, I’m glad that you kept a sense of humor and just did what needed to be done to make it livable again. I’m glad you did not lay blame publicly. We can make our own assumptions. Plus, I recently read a pretty vile post from the other channel. Anyway, it was a little unhinged and included threats about subpoenas to Google for user information so that those people could be reported to both local police and the NBI for the very specific purpose to blacklist them from ever entering the Philippines. Pretty crazy for what I saw as mild to moderate criticism of that person. At least in terms of the range of internet criticism. So, it’s clearly not the kind of person who can accept ANY criticism. Anyway, Karma tends to win in the end - whether it be for bonus underwear or for a nasty post directed at subscribers. Anyway, the post is now deleted, but no public clarification or apology. Anyway, you’ve gained a subscriber and that other channel lost a subscriber. I am looking forward to seeing your next video of further progress on your house!

I have to say that I am shocked to see the condition of the home prior to your cleaning. If there is ONE THING that is dirt cheap in the Philippines it is laborers. It should have been properly cleaned prior to your arrival. Its unfathomable that it was left in such a state. Without prying, had there been a dispute about them renting or was there a rent hike?

I would assume you thought you were buying something very close to a new build/home. I'm pretty shocked to see this, and this is horrible business ethics. Yes you're definitely right about KZread... everyone needs to be very careful about believing even 10% of what you see and hear... particularly if the KZreadr is using the platform to generate business. Mate, I'd never rent our PH house out for this exact reason. Guaranteed after a few years renting it you need to do a lot of work, as you've found out. It could have been a lot worse, thank your lucky stars there wasn't more real damage. Lesson learnt, hey? 🙂 If her family are in Davao, how did you end up settling up there? Did you just discover the place and love it, or was it just far enough away from the outlaws, I mean inlaws. 🤣

Thought that renting it to an expat might have reduced the risk…nope. As you say, lesson learned. We ended here because we liked the location. I’d happily live in Davao too. Kim’s family are awesome, no worries living near them … 😅

Hey, thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment, we really appreciate it. Banana trees have very invasive roots and can be hard to manage. These particular trees are positioned close to the fence and on top of a drainage system so the location is not ideal and the roots will eventually cause bigger issues. We will be planting other fruit bearing trees eventually.. stay tuned.

hey mate, just so you know, the fam that sold that house..... they left and sold that place after an Earthquake...so you might want to check out the structure.. get a pro structure investigator....the fam (ex owner) they did a video of how that house was shaking during that earthquake....they are vloggers themselves. We don't follow them at all. So many positive and joyful things to focus on in the Phillipines and life in general without getting bogged down in the misfortune / anger of others. Having said that, whatever is going on, we wish them both all the best.
