PHILIPPINES MOST UNIQUE HOLY WEEK - Moriones In Marinduque! (Filipino Island Tradition)
I HAVE BEEN TO MARINDUQUE BEFORE, BUT NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE HOLY WEEK TRADITIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES!
The Moriones Lenten Rites in Marinduque is simply amazing. The local communities come together for this very personal commitment, and act of penance. I have written about this in the past on my Facebook Page, but in this video, we start by experiencing the first Monday of Lenten Week in the town of Boac. It was our first time to see this Holy Week tradition for locals... Moriones parading up and down the streets, locals wearing traditional dress, and just everyone coming together in faith.
Holy Week is also a reunion for many locals from the island of Marinduque. People will come back to be with their families, and experience the Moriones Lenten Rites together.
This Filipino Island Province is the Heart of the Philippines...
And I am so happy to have the opportunity to experience its Holy Week Traditions.

@@BecomingFilipino it's the same with Holy Week tradition in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, the difference is like fashion show on the street.
This is so impressive! The way the whole town participates is just amazing, and the fact that the events take place throughout holy week must make the week that much more meaningful for them. This is so beautiful to see, Kulas. I can only imagine how much greater the impact is on you being there seeing it in person. Happy Holy Week and Happy Easter! 🙏🙌
I remember your visit here. I love this town. It’s so clean and organized. Hopefully 🙏 one day I can visit that place. 19:59, what a handsome guy. The one in the red.

I can't reiterate it more, the Marinduqueños, are the best. Been there 6 times. We didn't stay in a hotel because a family took us in, strangers, yet we were welcomed like we're part of their family. Thank you Buenavista.

It could be a tourist destination in the years to come because of this video. A good travel destination. It's not that far from Luzon and Puerto Galera. Never been there myself, but perhaps just a boat ride from Luzon and Puerto Galera

I think tourist arrival will increase because of this blog!
Thank you Kulas for taking the videos. I am reminiscing my childhood. We would go home every year as my family were all active in Gasan. So cool to see it again and I promise to be there next year.
Hi Kulas, Thank you so much for taking me/us along in your adventure in the Philippines. Whenever I watch an episode of your travels I feel nostalgic. There are many places you’ve been where I have not. I feel like we’ve switched places. I am Filipina born Canadian while you’re the opposite. For some reason, I feel more connected to the Philippines, though I have families there, because of your blogs. You and Therese make a great couple. All the best to you and hope to meet you someday, either in Vancouver or the Philippines. God bless more abundantly!👍😊🇨🇦🇵🇭
Kulas Thank you for Becoming Filipino you're showing to the blog's our different culture, our beautiful nature and how very hospitable Filipinos. GOD Bless Stay safe out there always.
I love older hotels with character good choice Better than glass cages... Happy Easter Kyle 🐣 Greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 thanks for letting us ride along.. Salamat..

Wow!! Thank you for visiting our lovely province of Marinduque❤️❤️❤️😭
Good Morning watching now. Share the love and hit that thumbs up if you are watching. It is Free
The work they put out on their elaborate costumes and masks, wearing it in the stifling heat with their spirits still high…. awesome show of faith and passion. The place looks so clean and the people very friendly.
Sayang Kulas, wasn't able to catch you last Holyweek! I was also there visiting my dad's hometown until Holy Wednesday! Every night the Marinduque Expo becomes a banger of a festival!
Welcome to our beloved Island of Marinduque. We are very happy to see you here .Nasaksihan mo ang moriones festival.Enjoy your vacation.
Good job KULAS, you shown to the world how filipino are passionating, keep up the good work 💯💪💖 and keep safe and good health 💖💯💪 GOD BLESS 🙏💖💯💪
Wow!! Thanks for sharing. God bless you more!!
Hello Kulas n Therine! The moriones are cool. Just imagine walking in an alley by yourself and meeting one of these guys... scary stuff 😬. The event is actually a religious celebration of Jesus Christ d lord even though you might mistake it as an annual festival. I'm amazed Therine has no problem mixing pleasure and work... laptop made running a business anywhere. But of course, with suportive Kulas. Have fun!
My admiration of Marinduquenions the way they observe and celebrate Holy Week !!!!! If not of the pandemic , I could have been there last 2020 as part of my Visita Iglesias on different provinces. Maybe if it was not held on the very same day everyone are going home to their respective provinces on Holy Week , it will be filled -up with thousands of vis5itors .I wish when Aliwan Fiesta resumes in Manila , Morionen or Moriones Festival will bag the street dancing champion as it really deserves it!!!! Sadly it always goes to the war dance region which is gradualy losing its representation of its culture & history and becoming more a copycat of mardigras in Brazil.
Love how you stick to your contents and your handle, becoming filipino, not just going places for vacation but you really study the culture of the places you go to. Welcome to our province marinduque. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for sharing #BecomingFilipino😊I heard Moriones festival 🎉but didn't see it yet 😊The costumes are very nice😊Have fun & be safe❤️🇨🇦🌸
