Legazpi city is my province. People there know exactly what to do during eruption. Typhoon with more rain are more dangerous than actual the eruption. It is when the lahar deposits roll down the slopes in many directions bringing in sands and boulders as big as cars and Vans that fill the streets and lands as high as 10ft or more.

I'm from that region but working in Manila, it's an active volcano....the average eruption is every 2-4 years. So people should know when and where to go. Human casualty is almost zero---unless the lahar is so overwhelming. Still, please pray for our people. Thank you.

I am so saddened and empathize with the woman who has been displaced twice. Here having no home is becoming so common that laws against people living in tents from places where they are seen as a nuisance. Greedy people gentrifying city's and towns are pushing out people who could barely get by already. Then society blamed them. As always blame the homeless victim who has no money to move and has lost all.

I dont know about a comparative between Mayon and Pintatubo But there is a danger there which could turn catastrophic. God bless all the people and animals affected..

Mayon and Taal Volcano is the most active volcanoes in the Philippines.

Why is it that when western news media cover events like this, they only look at the negative side oft he news? When in reality, the province of albay where mayon volcano is located is very very busy right now. Schools are open, business are open, its like ordinary day except for the volcano erupting. In fact, there is a tourism boom in the province right now. Hotels and bnbs are fully booked with local tourists as well as tourists from asia and to as far as europe coming in to witness the event. While its true there are evacuees but its a small portion of the population and help is being extended by govt

3 in the Philippines mostly on central and southern part. And now northern volcanoes are also getting active, we really don't know what's happening 😅
