Philippines is a poor Spanish colony where the Spanish raped, plundered and force-converted them into worshiping a foreign 'white' guy called Jesus. I guess you didn't know that the Philippine Navy (PN) also lacks ships with decent range and endurance to patrol the Philippine EEZ. Today, PN has like 6 ships (3 del Pilars, 2 Jose Rizal, 1 BRP Conrado Yap) that can effectively patrol the Philippine EEZ.

Those ships have sensitive and sometimes unknown tech , its not about how big and menacing to look at but what kind of unknown tech is inside. its an interesting buy but the problem there is that these ships are only 2500 tons at most while the Chinese coast guard operates ships as large 10,000 tons its kinda hard to stand your ground when the people who are fighting massively outweigh you in every department

Oh in case people don't know why Chinese have such big powerful cost guard ships. That's because they recycle their old retired military ships and take out all the weapons instead of scraping them. I think they only leave one gun for defense but that's it.

But if it's through a loan, I guess it's doable. I'm guessing it's a 50 year loan because I don't see how the Philippines would be able to afford the loan repayment for shorter period unless they scrap every other expenses.
