This is actually the first time Philippines never made it to the top 10 but she did her best!!!

The Philippine flag colors in their Miss Universe title history: Gloria Diaz wore yellow in 1969. Margarita Moran wore white in 1973. Pia Wurtzbach wore blue in 2015. And Catriona wore red in 2018.

I just realized that over the courses of time, people became smarter and more articulate in answering questions because along with the rise of knowledge it was also combated with judgments and criticism which forge them to set in a different level. The answer of Pia and Catriona are the evident of that. Also what's up with questions before? it really out of place, it doesn't have any connection to miss u or the world's current issue that needed to be addressed

Seems like it was just less political in the past. As in, they weren’t trying to gauge the woman’s activism or deep core values, they were trying to test her wittiness and charisma. So the old questions are more odd/light-hearted, where the new ones are philosophical/political. Nowadays the women are more like activists. It just wasn’t that serious in the past. I don’t think either way is necessarily bad.

Pia and Catriona have impressive answers.

during Gloria's time, nobody could answer that same question. They were either language challenged or were blushing or were shocked by the question. Only Gloria was able to answer well, without panicking nor buckling. That is why she won. In Margarita Moran's time, she really did not need to answer spectacularly, because at that time,it was heard that she was ahead of everyone else in scores and she was the judges' favorite to win. Good thing she still delivered well and was being real in a very practical question. As for Pia, well we all knew she delivered in that final Word. She was the only one who answered what she could do when she becomes miss universe, and not self absorbed nor buckling. With Catriona, it was a complete answer. She was the only one who answered the two connected questions: what is the most important lesson you've learned in your life? And how would you apply it to your time as miss universe? She knew what she wanted to do with the title like a woman on a mission. She was not just there to be pretty. She wanted to make a difference. Those are why those 4 Filipino women became Miss Universes of their respective years.

Gloria and Margie were crowned with the same orchestral piece

Catriona's answer is the longest.

Syempre trained sila na sumagot sa ganyan may mga ready na silang sagot. Kung pakikinggan mo may weird pauses sya nung sumagot sya;meaning inaalala nya yung minemorize nya. Di tuload nung tanong kay Cat na kelangan mo talagang magxisip ng sagot kasi di naman yun natatanong kahit sa mga trainings.
