I absolutely love the way the purser welcomed the passengers by referring to them by their last name. The rest of the crew also greeted me.
I noticed that headphones/headsets were not readily available on every seat nor were they distributed to every passenger. I had to ask for one, so did other passengers who wanted it. The headset was not of good quality as only one speaker was working. I had to tweak the jack in its port every now and then to get a better sound. Also, I don't think the headset that was handed to me and to the other passengers were new. They weren't wrapped in plastic.
I also noticed that the young Japanese crew member was friendlier and more hospitable than her young Filipino counterparts. The heart of the Filipino or the heart of the Japanese? :D In my opinion, senior Filipino crew members of Philippine Airlines are more hospitable that the junior ones.
No economy class menus were handed out. So, I had no idea what the options were. I was just given the chicken option since they ran out of the other one. They only serve red and white wine in economy. No champagne, no cocktails.
I thought it would be nice if the crew members were visible even after meal service has long ended to check on passengers.
The landing was smooth. On land, I truly appreciate the automated immigration gates.
Claiming of baggage took too long.
