L'Arpeggiata explores music by Claudio Monteverdi, blending instruments and voices including those of countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and soprano Núria Rial in a kind of intoxicating baroque jam session. It includes the final duet from L'incoronazione di Poppea, often cited as one of the most sensuous and beautiful love scenes in all opera.

A good instrument and lots of patience, practice and experience. Plus daily recording one self and analyzing with taking notes the recordings the following day is guaranteed to help one improve.

I can't fault your bird, obviously has discerning tastes. I myself get a certain feeling all over when I hear his voice
This is one of the best CD's I have ever bought. The tracks are varied so that one doesn't tire of the music. PhJ's talents are widely appreciated, but for me the star of this CD is Nuria Rial,with her soaring voice and ability to convey emotion. Her duets with PhJ are the shining jewels of the CD.
Still don't understand how Jaroussky gets all the praise here. The real genius is Doron Sherwin. To manage what he does with the most difficult wind instrument of all is just astounding. Intonation is hellishly difficult on the Cornetto, but Doron pulls of not just the necessary in the 'straight' Monteverdi, but effects and goodness knows what else in the jazzy stuff. A magnificent performer.

Jaroussky is FANTASTIC, what a performer! (plus he's just so adorable). I wonder how he and L'Arpeggiata came to do a jazzy, contemporary (and fun) arrangement of Monteverdi’s 'Ohime ch’io cado'? Maybe just to have fun!?

La voix de Philippe a travers cette sublime musique nous ouvre les portes de l'univers, merci Philippe et merci aux musiciens de porter aussi loin et aussi haut ces notes jadis écrites par Monteverdi. Que le ciel vous le rende au centuple....j'espère vous entendre un jour en Franche Comté.....

Escuchando esta musica con estos magnificos interpretes puede volver a creerse en el "hombre" como ser.
Quel beau cadeau matinal !! Seule une si belle voix peut exprimer à la perfection les multiples émotions du compositeur en proie à l'époque à une certaine nostalgie ... Mais de cette nostalgie naît une lueur d'espérence !! Un tel désir de sortir du brouillard , une seule et même prière adressée à un seul et même DIEU pour tous ... Arriver seigneur à tempérer ces tensions à travers ce Monde si parfait à l'origine et devenu si abjecte ... POURQUOI ?? !!

Sabine 73 I have fallen in love with these instruments, the Zimbabwe as my father called it, the Krumhorn, the Lute and historic violin and of course Philip Jarousky. It is such a joy to listen to the humorous pieces, which the group enjoys too. Absolutely great!!!,
