A big turnout last night, the 23rd of June for Ed Westwick, the acclaimed star of Hollywood who opened the fashion show-event for PHILIPP PLEIN at Palazzo Clerici in Milan.
Ed Westwick, mostly known for his role as Chuck Bass, (the sexy and arrogant bad boy) of the TV series "Gossip Girl, was the perfect choice to interpret the "Bulletproof Hero", theme of the new collection designed by Philip Plein for the next S/S 2013.
A strong impact with street art influences, bold, transgressive, and ultramodern, presented amidst baroque chambers and stupendous Tiepolo frescoes.
Two looks on the catwalk for Ed Westwick. The first absolutely formal, black shirt and trousers with a light blue jacket. The second, a real contemporary dandy, with brown crocodile jacket over a rock t-shirt and white pants.
Along with him, PHILIPP PLEIN'S bulletproof heroes on the runway protected by super luxurious armor.
Spike crested helmets like futuristic punks. Skateboards airbrushed with flaming skulls and covered with bullet studs. Floral shorts combined with special biker jackets, each one an airbrushed piece of art signed and numbered by Koro design. A true luxury for the chosen few, going way beyond the concept of limited edition.
Completing the collection are the brand's pièces de résistance: customised high sneakers with decidedly bad boy neon designs and tags, soft and touchable crocodile skin biker jackets, and practical hooded windbreakers adorned with hand applied crocodile strips. Soft maxi shawls. The exclusive t-shirt capsule collection featuring iconic pin-ups from Penthouse magazine.
Ed Westwick knows firsthand about the designer's decisive, authentic and passionate style. Philipp Plein wanted him as the face for the FW 2012/13 campaign, captured by famed photographer Terry Richardson.

Special guests at the show included Fiammetta Cicogna, Alessia Ventura, Eleonora Carisi, Chiara Ferragni, and Jean Roch among others, who went on to celebrate Philipp Plein at the afterparty. Featuring both spectacular and ironic pole dancing by the Penthouse Pets. Guests rewarded the sexy million dollar girls with fake PHILIPP PLEIN dollars provided by the maison.
