Philip Sayce - Alchemy - 100 Club - May 2010

Музыка

Amazing live show in London May 12, 2010. Love it. This one shows he's got it all - technique, feeling, intensity and inspiration. Thank you Philip. Hope you enjoy!
Alchemy is a song from his Peace Machine album. www.philipsayce.com. A great mix of SRV, Hendrix, Jeff Healey, Eric Johnson...

@jewelfewel This was written at least one year before Gravity was recorded/released. Both great songs, and both great musicians :) I personally think that JM gets too much credit for his instrumental skills...he is great, but I think he is better as a musician, rather than as just a guitarist. Continuum is probably my favourite album from the 2000's, Peacemachine is a very close second :)

@TurquoiseArmies honestly, i feel jm is very underrated when it comes to instrumental skills, of coarse you just have to dig around for live performances, but his control over his guitar is something i really value and envy in his playing, and my favorite jm is his playing from 2004-2008 currently i feel hes lost a little passion and is trying to get back on track. not trying to argue just my opinion:)

So I'm starting to understand his tone. He has a fuzz on the whole time and uses his volume knob on the guitar to affect the amount of fuzz that's coming through. The fuzz itself is turned down a bit though. That's the trick. I believe its the Ge Square face that he uses turned down, and the vintage fuzz face he has turned all the way up. Am I wrong?

i don't think so. i think he uses the klon centaur turned on all the time, and turns the fuzz on in the heavier parts of the song (besides the fuzz, he has an octafuzz too)
