She's such a trooper & always up for some fun... 😉Hanni has made flying or short visits since she returned to the 🇬🇧UK〰️but there has been a long, dry spell without her. 💐There's no doubt that they can be cleverly used to hold a bouquet of flowers, but they are rather modern. 🤍Love to repurpose the square vase for other household & kitchen purposes♻️. These vessels truly play well on counters, shelves, trays, & drawers. They can be reused in a variety of ways. 😉Big improvement over plastic for our sensibilities as well as environment too. On a desk (or in a drawer) to hold business cards, notes, postcards, office supplies like staples, binder clips, erasers, paper clips, rubber bands, stamps, & so on. On a bureau, to hold your pearl or beaded necklaces. Perhaps a collection of your pretty broaches you like at the ready, & so forth. In a drawer or vanity holding your hair clips, scrunchies, pins, rollers, etc. Fill w/ small stones, pebbles, or glass beads to store 🖌make-up or paint brushes at the ready. 📷 Upside down on a rustic wood block, they can look quite charming as a 3D display w/a black & white photo & small ❤ token to create a mini-vignette of your beloved or capture a special moment in time⏳️. In the kitchen or pantry, they can corral tiny tools like tea infusers/strainers, tea bags, or those petite bag rests or saucers; chip clips, spice or sweetener packets, k-cups on a coffee station, etc. They also can hold your sponge sinkside💧 in a vinegar or bleach bath to ☠️kill germs between use. Or, to hold your scrubby scour pads. You're only limited by your imagination. They are available at great numbers in 🇺🇲US @ Dollar & Thrift stores. Challenge you to share ideas for organization. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Being half British, I am sure you know the history behind high tea (middle class early evening meal served at a table sitting on highback chairs - before they had to go back to dress and serve the upper class their evening meal and ready them for bed) and low tea (gentry sitting in lounge chairs weather permitting sometimes outside in the garden). In the garden the men and women had more social freedom. Low tea had the tiered plates so that the servants could put everything out before hand according to the courses (scones at the bottom because you want to eat it first while it is warm, sandwiches second and top tier the sweet stuff for desert) and not stay to serve. This was at around 4 so that they could last to dinner that was served around 9pm. Do also read up on the 11oclock tea that was served to only the women because they slept past breakfast, often in the lady of the house's bedroom. The ladies could then stay in their pj's. This gave the servants time to sort out the rest of the house before the ladies came down. The men would be up and out hunting or at their clubs.

@@lizamartin4705😊For the aristocracy & gentry, it was always more a matter of nibbles vs a true meal 🍽. The more prestigious a home, sometimes the more grand the repast. You grazed rather than gouged. Tea was always a small snack to tide them over between times. Young teen boys & men might be permitted to heap their plates, but that was frowned upon for females. High teas were for households w/more elaborate social rituals. Perhaps it was reserved for formal households, special socializations or traditions. Sometimes similar fare were also featured on picnics, Spring or Summer gatherings, sporting events, etc. 🐎If you went out riding or doing your round of social calls (whether visiting friends, repaying a missed call, or seeing to the less fortunate🧺), you might come in rather famished from the physical activity. Breakfast was often a spread on a sideboard where residents & guests could visit during a set time. Self serve or assisted by servants. Luncheon & dinners would be more formal. While their main meals typically had several courses, the portions sizes were smaller to prevent waste or over indulgence. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

😊That was a thoroughly delightful tea 🫖 for dinner. Nice to think out of the box. 😋Hard to resist tiered trays of delicious finger sandwiches, bon-bons, tiny cakes, & scones with jam & clotted cream. 🥂Champers was a festive, elevated touch🍾. Well done! 😉Too true about artfully using other vessels on trays, tables, & sideboards for flower⚘️ displays. It can be very cheerful. Good way to use pieces you love that have been neglected otherwise too, esp. for folks that don't do a lot of entertaining. 🤔Think heavy cystal vases & handsome ceramic cachepots can be beautiful for corraling a collection of kitchen tools or wooden spoons too. Things that serve a practical purpose don't need to be unsightly. Marie has definitely used jugs, milk bottles, & petite pitchers for her 💐 floral arranging in the past. Maybe she did more experimentation for her Instagram & YT in the past too. I'm sure she will do it again in the future, but a reminder is always nice to get our much loved things out in rotation. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Never know perhaps they will all make a Christmas trip or video like today, for Lalander's and of course Stephanie, and meeting Sir Lancelot and rest of family there! Such a surprise! Usually, the decorating gets very busy! Mummy is not too big on alot of decorating, But, one never knows? Isabel' and Percy's room could maybe not have as many decorations, just a few to make it just right, for them? A nice "get away?" Gerald would love every minute am sure! Percy and Isabelle often give out food for the homeless on the street, in Africa where they live. So that is their Christmas, usually, Loved watching the video today of Isabelle and to hear that Percy is doing better now!

Yes, thankfully the ⚜️French seem very civilized about including their canines @ restaurants. 🎉That's truly lovely to hear🎉. In the 🇺🇲US, they sometimes allow pets outdoors for patio dining these days☕️. Sometimes you can see small dogs & cats allowed in stores 🛒 when tucked in totes too. 😮You certainly can't leave them out front by themselves where they can get stolen or in hot cars🚘 while you run your errands. 🤣Sadly, it freaks out high sticklers & germaphobes to allow them indoors at tables, restaurants, & stores. Although working dogs are allowed for 😎people w/disabilities, so what's the big deal!? Don't touch them if it bothers you or you're allergic. 🤔As long as they are well behaved, not begging, or causing a nuisance, I don't personally see a problem. Running randomly under feet could be a potential hazard in a busy working space or 🚙outdoors🚛, but they can be trained against being a nuisance. 🐶Dogs are pack animals & are more secure w/their people or keeping company w/other pets. Even some cats🐱 are desperately unhappy left alone🥺. 🏰 Chateau LaLande is a guest house for a portion of the year. 🧐Don't visit or tune out if you find canines in the kitchen or D/R offensive. This is also a family home where rules can be relaxed for all manner of well-behaved guests. 😉In the ❄️Winter, lil' Lord Lancelot will serve as a cosy bundle on laps too👍. A cuddle is great medicine for reducing all manner of stress & loneliness. 💗 It's sweet that Philip & Stephanie have taken so well to pawrenthood🐾〰️ esp. our truly hesitant Chatelaine💖. Love seeing her fall in love w/the adorable scamp, & exhibiting such a tender side.🕊God bless their new little trio🤍! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Tonights video was all about the concerted sharing of culinary knowlege and experience, bargains, camaderie, whimsical exaggeration, enchantment, and as is the norm - love all around. Happy to hear your mum and Percy are well and going strong.

Stephanie truly now does love Sir Landcelot and am sure wonders how she lived without him all this time!? It is funny how they can capture your heart and your pet is always the best. That is how you feel, and that they are the smartest.

I have really enjoyed seeing Stephanie’s journey from not really wanting a dog to being completely in love and attached to Lancelot. There is nothing like the love of a dog, they are the best of us.

Lancelot is part of the family. And just like when you hold babies, he needs to be held! He deserves a place at the table just like the rest of the family. And yes I am an American! I also have four giant hairy dogs who lounge in my kitchen while I am cooking and while we eat. they have been taught not to beg but they do get leftovers and they help with cleanup pre-washing the dishes.

I live in france, and for the cream, there is a powder called Chantifix that you add to the cream while mixing, and then it becomes like double cream, great for scones or trifles and very easy!

Perhaps change the lamp bulb for low energy bulb or you will get heat/scorch marks on the top of the lovely lampshade.

If Phillip and Stephanie don't go out and leave Lancelot alone for a while every now and then, then go to say south Africa. He will pine and it can cause so much stress that it can make him seriously ill. Seperation anxiety is hard to break, so please think of him and leave him alone for five minutes to start and come back, then gradually increase it til he is happy to be home without you.

My small dog and I have been turned away at a couple of restaurants here in Provence but most welcome her inside. I got lucky with her as I'm her third owner and she is incredibly well behaved. She sits at my feet quietly while I eat. If there is another dog nearby she lays on my lap like a lap blankets. There have been times when she's on the floor and I look over to see the French person at the table next to us quietly sneaking her nibbles off of their plate. The usual stoic look on the French person's face melted into a joyful smile.
