You should have Phil there more often, he's such a huge personality and a truly wonderful individual. And a world-class guitarist as well!

I dig Phil’s philosophy on gear and keeping it simple. I hope Friedman will put this in a 20W version one day. For me the 100W would be like owning a Ferrari and only able to drive 55mph.

That was my 1st thought, 20 amp and I’ll sell my Harley to get it. Phil is awesome and I love how he uses his equipment instead of adding a tone of effects.

I concur. However..........have ya tried the new ( well, still fairly new ) Marshall SV20 ( studio Plexi )? It cleans up really nice ( much better than it's sister that's a downsized version of the JCM 800 ), and man, does it sound & feel like the real deal, only much more useful. I did, and I'm here to tell you, I love that little amp's tone more than my 50w JCM 800 and 100w JCM 900. Don't be misled by many of the demo videos here on youtube. Some know how to properly demo the amp.......but most do NOT. I challenge anyone to go play one for themselves, and not fall in love with it. A lot of the amp is hand-wired, and 100% made in England, no out-sourcing. Comes as a head or combo.

I absolutely love Phil X. I have been following him for better than 10 years and he always has such a fantastic energy, sense of humor, raw talent, all while remaining completely humble. I am so stoked to see him get all the spotlight he deserves.

No surprise that Phil X is presenting his signature amp himself.

No joke..... When was doing Fretted Americana videos he used an old Magnatone amp and people were asking for a replica to be made. They hooked up with John Kasha & got one done, and then Phil did videos demo'ing the comparison between his old amp and the new replica. Those videos were so damn good I ordered one and waited for it to ship. The fact was, I had confidence with what I was hearing, Phil's playing is so consistent. I knew the amp I was getting was a close replica, not exact. But I knew HOW close it was. Still have that Evil Robot (they had to have it renamed: copyright issues). Number #13 of 100. Lucky me! Only 18 watts but it will take your head off if you crank it.

Phil is who got me into guitar. I was sorta into it as a hobby, then watching him on Fretted americana got me started on my Guitar journey

Funny, I got an LPJ because of his reviews on that channel. I really love his playing style and awesome charisma

I like how he set the mids to a quarter past M.

3:28 in - what he did was jump one of the two dropping resistors, thereby INCREASING the voltage to the preamp giving you more headroom and note definition!! :)

Such a down to earth player! Love this guy and how simple and stay true to the tone chasing for his own sound. Great guy, Phil X !

He ain’t lying… The amp will tell on you really quickly if you’re not on top of your game. Sounds really great with him playing, though. Makes me sound like I really need to practice.🤠

A lot of guitarists have signature gear and you wonder if they actually use it. I would almost guarantee Phil is using this amp a lot. Congrats.

Phil and the amp sound so great. Open is the perfect word for all the best amps. “It’s all about attack too right”? Yes it is. Great attack. Delay sounds wonderful as well. Yeah

One of the best sounding amps Friedman makes imho. Great feature set as well. I’d love a 20 watt version.
