I’m not even a Liverpool fan and I’m kinda gutted. Klopp seemed like a perfect fit for Liverpool, his energy, his aggressiveness , the way he grits his teeth when he’s on the touchline - it’s weird, but this German bloke somehow personified LFC for me.

I think what happened last season drained Jurgen so much that he made the decision then that this would be his final season. Knowing the man Jurgen is, he'd want 1 more season to rebuild the squad before leaving. That's the sort of man he is, and why everyone who supports Liverpool will miss him so much.

Before he was appointed as Liverpool, Jurgen was on a leave of absence for one year! He knew he will be a 'good fit" for liverpool. His personality fits the club and man, his football culture is on another level. He turn mediocre players into excellent players and players will run for him. He recognize Robertson from Hull, signed for 10,000 pounds, turn Mane into world class, As good as Bobby Firminio was with a good football brain, he turn him into another level! Well we all knew Salah was going nowhere in Roma, he turn him into a legend. Jurgen Klopp turn Liverpool into one of the most followed and love football club in the World. Lets win the leaque and the cups with it this season!

One argument is that when Klopp came in, Liverpool did indeed need a near-messianic figure to revive the fortunes of the club. He came in and he did that. However, that job is now done. Liverpool are in a fantastic position from a sporting, financial, dressing room culture and profile/reputation perspective. No, we can't find another manager like Klopp - he doesn't exist. But maybe we don't need to. The club doesn't need rescuing or reviving thanks to the work Klopp has done, and that may be his greatest legacy. Maybe all we need now is "only" a good football manager.

He done well with rangers but we all know that Scotland is just a two horse race. It's probably best not to mention Aston villa or his present job in the middle East. So for our sake I hope they bring in someone with a lot of experience and character. My biggest fear would be if they give it to Gerard we could end up on a hideous run of bad managers like United and Chelsea who as we all know gave the job to ex players/new inexperienced managers. Obviously that's just my opinion and I could be completely wrong.

As a CEO of Liverpool i would not allowed such an announcement before AFTER the season was over, and even not before a replacement coach team were already in place. Also due to the fact that the ENTIRE coaching staff are announced to be leaving at the same time as JK...! What were they thinking....??? As a Spurs fan there have been many depressing moments playing Liverpool and I'll admit, even though he had a very decent CV with Dortmund, I thought he was bit OTT at first ... running up and down the touchline like a headless chicken with an average side that was Liverpool back then and I thought it might have been beyond him ... and there was the subsequent never ending whinge about VAR if it didn't go his way ... but along the way he turned them around and now they're once more a top side playing great football ... but, if he and the club have been able to keep such news quiet since November ? ... why, half way through the season, when they have a massive chance to win some titles, why let it be known now ??? ... these are interesting times, it may galvanise them (like Phil Thompson hopes) into winning all they're into or they may fall apart, whatever the story, he'll do some damage as the new German coach and I guess it'll be welcome back to Xabi Alonso ... the absolute shoe in replacement

Say what you want: FSG not investing enough is a big reason for him leaving. How can for example West Ham invest NET more in the squad than Liverpool? 3 years ago, Jürgen desperately needed center halfs. Who did he get? Kabak and Davies. Last year he needed new fresh Midfielders. Who did he get? Melo! And LIverpool missed even the Champions League. And that wore Jürgen down. Thanks FSG

I think it comes as a surprise at this point. But Klopp is not dying, he just goes when he is the one to make the decision. But I think he did similar in Mainz and Dortmund as well. When he felt that he could no longer help the team (or it would be in near future that he would not be able to do that), he has no problem to step aside and let others take over. He turned Liverpool around after a difficult season. Some would have left when they were not performing. Many clubs would have sacked him at that point, despite prior success. But he made sure that they rebuild and perform well before he will leave. That's class. I assume, Leverkusen will need a new manager next season. If they win the title this season, they will worship Alonso forever in Leverkusen. And it would be the the perfect moment to leave.

Listening to his press conference, sounds like the media responsibilities that go with the job have been the catalyst. Fronting up doing up to six press conferences a week facing ridiculous questions from the journalists would take its toll on any man… let alone someone such as Klopp who runs on emotion and high energy.

Could you ellaborate further on why this was such a genius move? I tend to think its the opposite of genius. I think you are overrating the general psyche of football players. Football players are fairly simple lads. It may actually serve as a huge distraction for the rest of the season. If you think this is somehow going to "inspire the team" to "give it all for Klopp" the remainder of the season, knowing that the entire coaching staff will leave after the season, i actually think that its only a huge gamble as it may as well have the opposite effect.

It will make the PL easier for City now, giving us City fans less stress, unless Arteta can provide a challenge but you never know if Liverpool will get another good manager after. So long Jurgen ✌️

no - Klopp is like that, always has been (I'm a fan of the club he started out in - Mainz 05) Klopp comes in and promises something grand, then actually delivers on it - at Mainz he took us to the Bundesliga, at Dortmund he won the Bundesliga and took them to a CL final, at Liverpool he did it all Once he has delivered on his promise he usually has a slump season which is super mentally draining and often has to do with his players being bought out and his teams not having the same money to flash on the transfer market as others (again, this happened at Mainz, at Dortmund, at Liverpool last year)...he then helps rebuild the team but leaves once they are 'back to normal', wanting to end things on a positive note and before the next rebuild has to eventually happen
