Phil's Rotary's Junkyard Parts: RX2/Capella, RX3/Savanna, RX4/Luce, 323/Familia, etc...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It was by chance that I came across the "wrecking yard/spare parts warehouse" known as Phil's Rotory's. What I found there was more old, RX Mazdas that I had ever seen in Japan. (Except theRX3. I've seen a bunch of them in Japan.) In this video I give you the full tour of the place. There're rusting bodies of old Mazdas, plus boxes upon boxes of old parts, plus just old parts upon old parts. Amazing.

    G'day Dan'l. Back in Australia, eh? Awesome collection of Mazda cars and parts. I remember much of the cars from when I was a boy. I remember the 1st and 2nd gen RX7. Although I've never owned or driven a Mazda of this generation, I've known people who have owned or driven some of them. I've seen only a couple of Mazda station wagons, here in the USA, was known as the Mazda Rotary. I've never seen a wagon version of the 323/GLC (Familia). :)

  • @wasabicars

    @wasabicars

    I think there are two main reasons. One, the weather is just too corrosive in Japan, and that's why there are very few actual wrecking yards.99.9% of old cars (10 - 15 years old) just get scrapped. Two, the general population just give a crap about older cars. They just scrap them and buy a new one. Funnily enough, people who do hang on to their older cars, can't get parts for them. Hmmm... I wonder why? You may not get the impression from watching my videos, but old-car culture is all but dead here in Japan.

  • @wasabicars

    @wasabicars

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi. For some context, I've been living in Japan for 20 years, and going to car shows *very* regularly for the last 10. To answer your question, it's not just Mazdas. The Japanese want new cars in their driveways. Cars at about 10 - 15 years exported or crushed. They don't even bother stripping useful parts. Out with the old an in with the new. This has a knock-on effect for people wishing to hang on to their (still useful) cars in that it gets very difficult to source parts to keep their cars on the road. That's I guess the short answer.

    I actually was intended as light hearted. I'm not even kidding. OTHER channels would go to town on you for asking for something that was there... so people wouldn't need to ask. And don't get this twisted either. I'm not giving attitude, am just explaining. If you can't write it off as a misunderstanding, that's on you.

    If you're still abouts in Australia / Queensland on the 26th/27th of August come out to Willowbank Raceway. This is one of the biggest rotary meets you'll find. Details in the link. www.jamboree.com.au/

    Hi, Casper. You should probably sell your car. There's just no way you'll be able to complete the build... IF you're asking for a phone number that is clearly shown in the beginning of the video. Also, I say the shop's location in the opening moments of the video. Also, I've provided relevant links in the description of the video. I wish you the best with the project, but you really gotta up your detective work. Yeah, you could get really angry at me for my rudeness. Also, you could take the L and reflect on what I'm saying, and put in some real work. As it stands, the answers you wanted were presented to you on a platter. You didn't bother.

    Well you are right it was way too hard for me to find parts to finish my build so I traded it for a 1980 Toyota Corolla two-door 1.8. Imma put a 13b in it soon. Way easier to build and its complete.
