And for the PGA and any of its members to try to take a morality standpoint on this when they have lead sponsorships from companies like NIKE (make 90% of their products overseas it China using child labor and slave labor in sweatshops) is hypocritical af... also name one other sport that has so much power and so much of a stranglehold on a sport that you can not leave to go play somewhere else to make $$$. Also completed to pthwr major sports pro golfers aren't making shit because of the PGA pay scale/payouts so while the PGA itself is raking in billions a year via membership fees and TV sponsorships and product sponsorships and the names and likenesses of all the golfers the actual golfers are making damn bear peanuts (I'm order to make any real money you atleast have to reach the top 20 in the world and stay there for YEARS and place consistently in the top 10 in every tournament you play I mean dustin Johnson was #1 in the world for like 3yrs winning like crazy and constantly finishing in top 5-10 and still only has around $50mil in a almost a decade and a half of playing meaning being #1 in the world you are making less in a almost 20yrs of playing then your other pro athletes in other sports are making in 2-4yrs)

"Forty years ago, it was considered by some a risky move for the guys who play professional golf to break away from the group created for golf professionals." This was about the PGA Tour splitting from The PGA of America in 1969. "The golf breakup occurred largely because of the influx of money that television had started to pump into the game. The top players (Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer among them) wanted to use the additional TV money to pump up the purses." "The PGA of America wanted to put the money in the general fund. That's when the compromise was reached, with the golf professionals and the professional golfers going their separate ways." Sounds a bit like today... The PGA tour categorized itself as a non profit so it could avoid hundreds of millions in tax revenue. That decision is now haunting them since it also means they can't hand out guaranteed money contracts like other professional sports. The LIV tour is doing exactly that so it's not surprising top level golfers want guaranteed money. If someone loses their PGA tour card they're gone with very little support. I don't see how you can treat people as independent contractors and then complain when they go elsewhere.

Every player has their own situation to weigh up and some will join LIV Golf and some won't. If you were presented with a great opportunity and it suited you, you'd be silly to pass it up. The PGA Tour is trying to guilt players for going to LIV Golf, but ultimately the PGA Tour will end up a second rate tour if they ban players.

A lot of you guys that ask your wife to play golf six days a week will find yourself divorced. The young on the tour don’t know this until it’s to late. Just think about the many family parties he missed. I don’t know about you but the PGA tour is to demanding of its members and seems to not care about the pros family. @@scottchendo9090 One question you can ask is how many of the top 100 players in the world have gone to the Saudi League. Answer: something like 19. That's a relatively small number considering all the $ on the table. You can play down the human rights abuses of the Saudi regime or you can take them more seriously, what you can't do is pretend it's not an issue. There is also the risk of getting booted from the PGA for good. Phil was asked if he was comfortable with the possibilty that he would never play in the PGA again. He had trouble answering that one, of course.

Case u don't know the Saudi prince is a huge investor partnering with musk. Anyways aside from the fact that tiger went and took a 2 million dollar appearance fee to play in Dubai every year most players are saying no thanks bc the pga tour has made it very clear they don't want competition. Yet for Over 30 years we had the Asian tour, European tour. Besides the Saudi backing whats different now? The hypocrisy is hilarious. If we are truly talking human rights as the issue we first need to look at home. Police brutally before a jury, kids in cages separated from their parents, kids being mowed down in schools because lobbyists own politicians. I mean we could do this all night.

Collateral damage from the US bombing terrorists (which is horrible, obviously) is no different for you than a country's defacto leader personally ordering a hit on a journalist living in your country for speaking his mind. If you don't a difference there I can't help you. Do you cheat on your partner because lots of other people do it? Has your cynicism bankrupted your personal moral/ethical account? Why not go where the money is ridiculous and your adds to win are a lot better. The great ones that leave are still sacrificing their prestige and allegiance for the almighty buck, no matter how you cut it.

I find it odd that Phil, Bryson, and all LIV golf players have to take on the media's ethical standards with the Saudi government, when our own president is scheduled to meet with the Saudi government this summer, we still buy oil from the Saudi's, and I am sure American & EU companies are still operating throughout the middle east. The pressure and harassment these golfers are going through is painful to watch because Phil & Bryson are some of my favorite players. I am not sure why Phil is being held to right all the wrongs of a country when our own politicians cannot do the same or held to the same standards in a press conference. I have never seen this type of full court political press on athletes. Sad!!

I’ve been a huge Phil fan for years. Not really sure what Tiger has to do with anything or how attempting to bury somebody lends any sort of credence to your argument. I’ve seen Tiger sign plenty of autographs as well. Compare Phil to ANYBODY and we can just about bury that person in comparison to Phil so the Tiger bit is nonsense… and certainly winning a major doesn’t grant entitlement for any behavior or any sort of break from BS in and of itself. I’m not saying he’s deserving or not of anything and I’ve seen Phil at a major championship and can vouch for his kindness (wouldn’t say EVERY autograph but that’s nitpicking). He’s been largely very respectful to the crowds including myself for many years. But for every person on your side who feels that way there’s probably one on the other. It just is what it is. You make a choice, you live with whatever consequences come with that and he understands that. I also don’t think backlashing against public opinion would do him any sort of favors at this point and I’m sure he knows that as well.

I admire his talent, ability and grit, but I think Phil is a far better person in general and a great golfer in his own right. No one is perfect however and we all have our flaws. Except me of course. JK. This will al blow over eventually I’m sure. For the most part but their will be many still holding on to their butt hurt.
