it's true - they were into their health and seriously would even sing about their health issues - what happened and how they got out of it - through hope. This really compares to the drug-themed songs of the oldies. While there are nice songs of the past, we shouldn't knock new music, because it's better in some ways.

I am a Christian but listening to this is heartbreaking. It is very disappointing how we as a church treat the people who have served us for long at the least bit of scandal. These young men have turned out great - rich, good work ethic and beautiful families. I hope this treatment doesn't turn their hearts against God. Praying for them. These men are wonderful human beings. This is one of my favorite interviews.

something just doesn't seem right about them getting back together - it just rubs me the wrong way somehow - it's like they had a few setbacks, something went wrong, and they're trying to go back and see what went wrong and move past it and fix it. The thing is it just seems they can't, even though they want to try - it's like in them. Maybe they miss old times - just doesn't sit right is all.

I would have said the same thing if they weren't brothers, no matter what they do, they are obviously a family.

I could understand what you mean, but I truly think it was one of those moments of "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" (mind the A Little Big Longer pun) I think Nick really thought he could outshine Kevin and Joe, and do his best on his own. I think there were a lot of things he wanted to try, that weren't in the realm of the "Jonas Brothers." After Nick didn't do as well as he had hoped, which he even admitted in this interview, I really think he realized he was happiest creating music and moments with his brothers.

@@andiedrinkstea hey I love the pun - that made my day! Interesting - idk the whole story, but it definitely sounds like Nick's own undoing, if he didn't relinquish the lead role to Joe, as he mentioned, he could've actually succeeded (I personally don't think even then, as he's more quiet and reserved than Joe). The thing is that both actually did not too badly on their solo careers, which makes this all seem less believable - why are they trying to get back together if they were ok? They're just not explaining everything - and maybe it's because they don't understand it all themselves - which is even worse to accept them as a band together.

@@extropiantranshuman I mean, compared to where they were in stardom during the Jonas Brothers, Nick and Joe definitely didn't do as well with their solo careers. The only songs that did alright for Nick were Chains and Jealous. Bit even with this, he wasn't selling out concerts like he did with his brothers. He was even just a opening act for Iggy Azalea. This was nothing compared to where he was before. And nothing from Joe' solo album, Fast Life, made it to radios.

@@andiedrinksteaThanks for responding! Joe did make the radio with cake by the ocean, but we digress. I agree - I think they did really well with Disney. I think that Demi and miley really split everything up with the drugs and demi telling joe to hush about it, but they did it onto themselves with joe saying he doesn't want to be perfect and picking on disney when they built his career. What I'm saying is that there songs have never really been that great - it was their image that held them up. Once they parted ways with their image and relied on their music, it only made sense they don't do well and individually their own images even worse. But that's the difficulties in regrouping - they can't undo what they did and go back the way they came. They need to do better. They keep trying to pull the innocence act and then act differently in real life and then complain and it just doesn't work. What I'm saying is that the jonas brothers will have the same issues as their solo careers without their image holding them together, as we have seen, because their songs are hit and miss, even as a band.

It’s 4 years later and this is still one of my all time favorite interviews ever. At this point I wish Dr. Phil could do this kind of interview with BTS. Maybe in 2025 when they get back from military service.
