"We Said Hello, Goodbye (Don't Look Back)” was all over the NYC airwaves and the reason I bought “No Jacket Required”, this came out after Phil had gone through a very messy divorce… one of his best songs IMO.

Yes, like every good white middle class 80s home we had this, along with Brothers in Arms, in the vinyl collection. Always liked I Don't Wanna Know (I like the Fleetwood Mac of the same title too, even if it shouldn't have been on Rumours over Silver Springs...but I digress!) so it's a clear winner for me. We Said Hello Goodbye definitely doesn't feel like it belongs on the album, not that it didn't have other more sombre offerings (indeed my choice for a deep cut from this album would actually be Long Long Way to Go).

We Said Hello Goodbye feels like a combo between Elton John and The Beatles. I go for this one on this battle as Phil pushes things a bit. This is a good LP. I like Face Value the best (a classic) and his Hello, I Must Be Going 2nd, and this one third. All good.

No Jacket Required is my favorite Phil album. Second favorite is Face Value, but I feel there is some, pardon my pun, “PHILler” on it like The Roof is Leaking and the kids choir song that comes after it.

@@SoundlabStudios63 Both great LPs. The Roof is Leaking for me is like a change up song is sound/tone, so helps LP pacing but not one of its best songs. I like the near instrumental children's choir song for the drums, especially when they come in, fantastic Phil fill. Great splashy sound. I give Face Value the nod over No Jacket as FV is a little more organic and timeless sounding, less 80s sound. But both great. I am a Phil fan -- even like some BrandX
