Phil 2:3: A Refreshing Example of Loving and Honoring One Another (Francis Chan, Bill Johnson, David Demian)
“ Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. “Romans 12:10
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Phil 2:3
This is a short video clip from a recent Zoom call of ministry leaders from different streams all of whom have international influence. They also have some secondary theological disagreements among them. It includes Francis Chan, Bill Johnson, and David Demian. The video is refreshing in that it is a good example of loving and honoring one another.
As we are in a season of pause, self-examination, and 2 Chron 7:14 is on our minds, let us examine ourselves in where we are in the area of loving and honoring one another.
Holiness, repentance and turning from our wicked ways is not just about big scandalous sins like sexual immorality or financial dishonesty. “The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’” (Luke 18:11-12).
Holiness, repentance and turning from our wicked ways are also about turning away from presumption, arrogance, pride, gossip, and speaking ill of one another.
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
