I watched another guy on youtube making an assumption that if someone in Canada makes $2000 cedis the PHd holder who makes 10000ghc a month is better of in Ghana. His analysis was totally flawed. I don't get it when people in abroad think those in Ghana has no expenses at all. I know someone who works in oil in Gas in Ghana and earns more than gh10,000 cedis a month. At the of the month, with all expenditures he has less than 3000 cedis left. do u know why. He uses a Honda Civic, he fills full tank weekly and which is about 1000 ghana a week, thats 4000 a month. he has three kids attending an international school in Accra, school fees alone every term( 3 to 4 months) for the three is over 10,000 cedis so lets say 3000 cedis from his monthly salary. Chop money for the family has not been deducted, prepaid has not been deducted. feeding fee for his kids every day has not been deducted etc. by the time you are done with the calculation you realize your 10000 cedis is nothing to write home about unless you live in a remote area in ghana. The real argument Kofi Gabs is making is not even about how much one earns, it's about the privileges you get as a Dutch compared to the privileges one gets after attaining the highest pinnacle of education in Ghana. No better roads, poor healthcare, filthy places with no proper environmental hygiene. But do you know why these passports are powerful, if you are smart, it will open lots of doors that the Ghanaian PHD can never open? That's the fact. People should stop making it look like those in Ghana get salaries and have no expenses. As a matter of fact food commodities as at now are now more expensive in Ghana compared to abroad and this alone speaks volumes.

  • @nana-iz2jd

The truth is bitter, but this so-called "uneducated" man, as people refer to him, makes a valid point. I had a PhD in Ghana, but there was no additional quality of life for me when I completed it. The system is so wickedly corrupt that you can't even use your knowledge to impact the development of the country and improve the quality of life I had in Ghana. My quality of life drastically changed overnight after becoming a European citizen. How can anyone foolishly compare a meaningless degree in Ghana to quality of life, longevity, and the ability to make an impact? I am always thankful that I did not rely on my PhD in Ghana. A PHD holder will sell most of his/her property in Ghana only to be given a Dutch passport. Until we develop the country call Ghana, our quality of life is not sometimes up to the quality of life of animals in western countries. That is the Truth!!

They also have the authority to law and order! But what do we see. Criminals in political positions led by a criminal president who's supposed to be the preciding officer and commander in chief. These politicians have formed a cartel in that they try to prevent any good hearted person who wants to cause a genuine transformation of this country! Look at what they are doing to Cheddar!
