Of course GPA is VERY CRUCIAL - If you have a Undergrad GPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4 - then you can apply for PHD comfortably . But it depends how those INDEPENDENT evaluators will do the conversion based on foreign credential as American Universities do not get involved with transcript evaluation - process.

Hi ! I'm an undergraduate of a government university in physical sciences. I have a 3.5+ GPA for my first year but my second-year GPA won't be so nice even though not been released yet. Intuitively won't be selected for a special degree and probably I d end up with a general degree without any practical experience. I know that I'm a person who wants to discover new things, write about science and have a passion for research. Are master's degrees with scholarships ( at least in a sign countries? still open for me or should I give up?

Come on : In SL it is very very cheap plus you do not get home-sickness as you are pretty much home. So stay home and do it in your own comfort zone - Why go far away when you can do it at home ?
