I gave the video a thumbs up (of course) but I noticed for these last couple of videos on Meiosis or Mitosis, the narrator is speeding through everything and making errors in the process. I'm using the video as a reinforcement tool, but I find myself correcting centrosome and centromere the entire time. Slowwww downnnn!

wait so in miosis I it starts with a diploid cell, and then ends up with two haploid cells. In meiosis II why do the two haploid cells become haploid cells again??? im confused :S

At 2:48 wouldn't the bottom be 2n < 2n < n? Ie. After meiosis 1 aren't the cells still diploid until the end of meiosis 2?

Centromeres are the attaching center for two sister chromatids (duplicated in the S phase). Centro"somes" are the organelles responsible for adhering the cytoskeleton and also building mitotic spindles which help pull chromo"somes" apart. That's how I differentiate them.

Also, I found a great way to summarize this whole interphase thing... G1- Everything except chromosomes are duplicated. S- Each of the 46 chromosomes is duplicated by the cell. G2- Short check phase for DNA mistakes and continues the growth of cell membrane.
