I’ve been djing close to 30 years. I don’t own a set yet but after playing on 1200’s vinyl and cdj 1200’s(sl-1200dz) in clubs , house parties, etc. I can see how phase will allow you to still play on your turntables without worrying about needle or record wear . Also vibration from speakers and the person who bumps your table. It’s definitely my next purchase for my set up. Great video!!!! 💯

I just picked up a pair…and it’s brought me full circle realizing that the part I may have enjoyed most about djing was the 12” motorized platter. Boom.

I never thought that djing would actually become a job for me. 5 years ago, I was just goofing off in my bedroom with all this stuff and now I’m debating which turntable to get because it has become my passion!! Thanks for all of your amazing vids man!

Not many people who invest in a turntable system can keep up with the maintenance of buying needles and vinyl over time🙋‍♂. Especially when you're starting out and want to practice everyday. Phase was my best friend during 2020-2021! Can't believe I could just keep practicing without worrying about snapping a needle or fading my vinyl. The less we have to worry about hardware, the more freedom we have to enjoy DJing.

I had no idea Phase was the method DJs were using vinyl without the needle! I never noticed those little rectangles on the turntables! It's honestly so cool how far music technology has come in the last few years. I'm sure thirty years ago people never even thought that one day it would be possible to use vinyl without needles. I'm completely blown away that these exist. Awesome stuff!

Indeed! I mean, 30 years ago, CDs were *just* coming into widespread use, and the 45 was just getting phased out. Now, we have these!

Great video! Phase is one of the greatest inventions created for turntablist/dj. It's a “Game Changer”, you don't need to worry about any line cables, etc. I would say a must have for turntablist/dj out there.

I've been a subscriber of your page for a while and been watching your videos. Thank you for sharing all of this and being an inspiration to us. I started DJing 2016 and had few gigs with just low TF. I saved up to have a turn table and here in the Philippines, turn tables needles are a bit expensive and I've been experiencing skipping music specially when I am doing the gigs that's why I am very careful when I am practicing and doing the gigs. Phase has been in my save up and wish list for a while now because I really want to have one. This is really a game changer! You won't have to worry about skipping and jumping music just like when you use the needle. Hoping I get to choose to be a winner for this. I really want this badly!

After our release of the Mixfader, the portable crossfader, we wanted to push the art of turntablism even further. So, when DJs were expressing their frustrations on how fragile are cartridges and needles, we thought "Houston, we have a problem that needs to be fixed!" 😉 And P.S. thanks so much for your kind words man, we really appreciate it!

Technology has literally watered down the basic art form of DJing. Balance & Touch is the beginners first basic lesson of becoming a DJ & we used a penny or nickel until we didn't need them anymore. Today's DJ wants to drive the Lamborghini without ever learning how to ride a Bicycle. I'm not knocking anyone but fancy equipment & technological advancements alone doesn't qualify someone to call themselves a DJ it just makes them a studio engineer...

Phase is rubbish. All serato gear. Sound quality is limited to the connection speed of ur laptop. Tunes sound way fatter on vinyl IMO. Cdjs are different cus it's all standalone but I'd still prefer vinyl giving the option

That's a fair assessment of it Bill, though I do believe that technology has allowed old school DJs to flourish in different aspects too. They've got the Lambo, but now it's an SV the way I see it

@@MautreXvids It's nothing complicated. With the older style turntables the tone arm would jump/skip while learning to dj, so we used to place a nickel or penny on top of the needle head as a makeshift weight until we learned to control our touch better.

Thanks for this video man. Didn't know you could connect wireless now. All my mixes on my channel I've been using needles and once I used the Phase. I've been back and forth if I want to use it. I enjoy the challenge of needles but I know when I'm playing in a loud setting I wouldn't have to worry about that needle going off of the record. It definitely took some getting used to because I normally use the drive (silver piece in the middle) to speed up my song and with the Phase you can't real touch it. But I will definitely be open about getting one. Thanks again and I entered the contest too!

I get you Julz! That center spindle is off limits with Phase, so you've gotta ride the beat with the tempo fader a little more, but hey, it definitely helps balance things out!

Great Video! Is Phase really that stable? I hate working with hardware that maybe sucks during a gig. What about the battery life after a few years? Is it still holding 8 hours long?

I've gone quite long with them; but haven't hit the 8 hours juuust yet, but I trust them on that. Otherwise, Phase is very stable. Calibration is good, and the other issues I've seen before haven't popped up in a very long time.

Hey Dj Carlo thanks as always ! wanted to know with the phase if i can use it with the rane 12 mk2 and rane 72 mk2 with rekordbox , or if there is anyway to use the rane equipment i have with rekordbox... i dont like using serato so far the fact that rekordbox is way smoother when it comes to organising music database

I don't think it's supposed to work with the Rane 12s, since they're already digitized by all means. If you need to put a control vinyl on it, then that's what should work with the Phase remotes

As a tried and true "vinylist" this was long overdue and I have been able to combat and overcome all of those challenges I faced back in the day. This was a great video demonstrating the benefits of this tool and preservation of the 1's and 2's!

I’ve used Controllers, CDJ’s, and Turntables. I love the experience with Turntables cause of the rotating platters and size. I always love and prefer DJing using the turntables and have been wanting to use phase for quite some time now. Looks like so much fun.

Just DVS. Unfortunately, there's no way to work Phase on actual records as they weren't designed for that.

Hey, been a vinyl DJ since the 90's and only just upgraded to a pioneer serato mixer which has blown me away with DVS control, it is gonna save my classic vinyl getting more of a hammering which I'm stoked with but now the goalposts have been moved again and now you tell me I can save hammering my expensive needles too. Yes. Count Me In!... I love the idea behind all this and hope it replicates as well as DVS. I can't get my head around the digital aspect and how it works coming from analog but....amazing stuff! Can't wait to try them out and PHASE up my gear!

I recorded the chance I got to use these last yr! Wow what a piece of tech. Only down side for mixing was no needle pinching/twisting. I had to ride the pitch again, but that’s a minor complaint from the experience I had. Works very well. Would love some of these in my studio, it would solve the needle fluff problem! Definitely wanted to try using phase. I’ve used turntables a couple of times at weddings with needles but was always worried about issues and upkeep

Ohhhhh, it's scary to use turntables at weddings simply because of the crowd. You never know what could happen! Phase will definitely help out in that department

Looks like the perfect hybrid-crossover solution for analog and digital DJing! I’ve bought a turntable setup recently and the cost has really been wearing me out. While I can play my digital files with DVS while also steadily updating my vinyl collection, my needles are really getting worn out from scratching. But it looks like phase allows you to save your needles for actual vinyls and scratching when you really need it, while also DJing as normal.

100% Jay! That's what some of my friends have been doing since they got Phase; give your vinyl some love, and needles some TLC. For everything else, Phase has gotchu haha

Been wanting to get a set since it was first released. The HID integration is definitely the coup de grâce. Good to see the Phase team following through on their product with consistent software updates. I think I can retire my Ortofon Concordes now.

Not really! They work well with pretty much any set of turntables

I just bought my first turntable and a few vinyls but i have trouble with the needle adjustment because whenever i scartch the records more dynamically it skips back so whenever i can afford i will go for the phases

There's usually a way to solve that via balancing the tonearm. Or it could be that your needle isn't meant for scratchwork. In any case, Phase does help out with that!

Subscribed, liked, downloaded the brochure. I'm learning to use turntables and I feel like Phase would be a great tool to use while transitioning over from controllers. I would love to see how it adapts with Rekordbox

It works well with Rekordbox DJ! But it works the best (so far) with Serato DJ Pro, thanks to that HID integration!

That slap on the tonearm followed by a Tagalog curse somehow flashed back to my childhood.

I was an early adopter of Phase. I loved the concept and I'm glad they listened to feedback and made improvements with software and firmware updates. I'm still able to use all the control vinyls I've collected through the years and can have fun with picture discs thanks to the Phase magnetic stickers. Thanks Phase for a great game changing product! Thanks Carlo for the great videos! You're the best!

Phase looks great! Currently shopping for tables, but hadn't decided whether I'd go vinyl, control vinyl, or something like phase. But I just met all the giveaway contest requirements, so maybe that will make the decision easier! Here's to me!

Now I know and want a pair please please - will give me more reason to use my turntables and point people to you for the overview. I didn’t really get on with DVS but these look awesome. I’m new to DJing and your intro videos were really helpful for me to select my first controller and learn basic DJ fundamentals like different types of transitions and beat matching!! Pero marami pa akong dapat matutunan! 😅 lol Thanks for all the tips ! And happy with the inpulse 500 as a starter because of all the price & features but now that I’m starting to get a little more comfortable with the basics im excited to get into a motorized/standalone controller setups or DVS with phase is the next step in that progression for me to work on my turntablism and scratching skills… technics w/ phase, a motorized controller like the rev 7 or Rane one, or a standalone unit like the prime 4, ddj-xz or cdj3000/denon sc6000m.. so many good options it’s hard to pick a go to setup 😅

I love your drive and how excited you are for your future Forest! Keep that kind of passion up for the DJ game!

I currently have Phase and love it but need a second unit to replace my current one, As my right-side phase, the remote is always dying faster (battery life) than the other one. They will be equally charged but the right side always dies twice as fast.

Nice product! This could make the transition to vinyl much easy. I’m more of a CDJ/DDJ user but this might just be the next level for me. Thanks for sharing!

For sure Andrei! Believe me, once you get a feel for vinyl, it really becomes smooth sailing.

I think Phase sounds incredible. I would love to try them out! One of my biggest fears when DJing is someone stomping too hard or bumping into the equipment. Phase could really add more comfort and security to my sets... as well as lower my anxiety level any time someone gets close to the equipment. Great video, and good information regarding the updates and stability!

For sure Prepmode! Those were my fears as well with playing in bars, so I'm glad Phase stepped in to help alleviate those fears!

In my institute we have a teacher who uses a device like this (very similar, I don't know if it's the same brand), but he doesn't teach in my class, and he still hasn't taught us how it works, we did go to a session of it and I saw it running but that's it. I would love to have one like this so I can try it out on vinyl and to be able to take it to class so that we can use it with the equipment that we have in the institute. And learning to use it correctly. Since we are studying an Intermediate Degree in which a part is focused on the world of Deejing It makes me very curious and I would really like to have one and see how it works.

I’ve had phase for about 7 months and I love it. It has taken a second to get my father onto the phase wave because he’s a true old school dj and doesn’t even like using anything having to do with digital but I’ve finally got him onto it lol. The only problem I have is because of the style of beatmatching that I do. I can’t use the spindle to slow down the song but it’s made me able now to match by nudging the sides

I've read some DJs have the same problem, but in the opposite direction; they can't speed things up slightly without the spindle.

I've was dying to try it when it first came out. But the feedback wasn't super awesome from the DJs I knew. Glad to see they have improved. My excitement is back! Thanks!

I learned and started my Dj path using vinyl 27 years ago. This is where I learned to use the pitch control all the time to adjust the bpm. Then, started using CDJ100 with CDs, then eventually USB then controller. But the feel of vinyl is still the best. When I heard about Phase in 2019, i knew it was going to be a game changer cause it will eliminate all the problems you just pointed out on your video. Been saving for it ever since. When I see my dj friends in Manila use Phase, i get so jealous. Hahaha. I will get mine soon. Positive thinking 😂

I'm a DJ almost 20 years and mostly work on turntables. Watching your videos put me, sometimes, on self test. First time I saw Phase in Belgium in 2019. Now it would be nice to test it in first hand :) Keep going with nice videos. Really hope to win one of those. :)

I got one of the early ones with the faulty battery, and I tried to return it under warranty and it... didn't go smoothly. Other than the poor battery (which they've apparently sorted out now), they are fantastic

Yeah, some of us early adapters got the short end of the stick (like all tech), but hey, they still work pretty great for me, and now, the new ones REALLY last a while! Glad you're enjoying Phase as much as I am Brian!

I THINK I DIDN T FIND BETTER CHANNEL THAN YOUR. i WORK IN A ART BOARDING SCHOOL WHERE THE KIDS LEARN ABOUT DJING AS WELL AND WE WERE THINKING ABOUT PHASE, since that they keep on destroying the needles (kiiiiids hahaha) as weel as for me phase will be an amazing solution, i was hesitating for a long time but you really motivated me to go for it. thank for doing a such great job your channel tutorial and other content are amazingly well made and are really helpful. please keep helping the community cause you are doing a great work 🤟😊🤘

These are some cool devices! Back in the day with turntables I always had to put some foam underneath the deck case to avoid rumble.

It's a legit issue Peter! Even with the perfect set up, you never know what *could* happen!

Been using shure m447 for a long time. Fortunately I had them stacked for backups. I'm down to my last back pair. This would be a good time to try something new.

Bingo Seba! Your latter point is something a lot of critics seem to miss out on. Legit one of the reasons why DVS in itself is such a modern miracle for me!
