I was thinking about the same thing. Sell a pre-charged chrono boon will be a painless solution to the world buff. Or instead of pre-charged, let player deposit their chrono boon once and use currency to make copy of it. So it'll be customized and unique to each player, in a way.

I can practically hear the gold farmers and gold sellers licking their chops over tier gear pieces costing a bunch of gold. I just hope that Phase 4 is fun for the people who enjoy this type of Classic content. Thumbs up!

People complain for everything: content too easy, content too hard, few things to do, crying about raid twice a week, crying about dailies, crting about class balance, ecc. People just want to cry and auto-sabotage

Absolutely this. My only complaint is world buffs are going to be tedious. Idk how I'd fix that. Idk that there's a better way. But "having to" collect all of these buffs twice a week doesn't sound great. I'll still do it. Just feels like 1+ hours a week I could spend doing something else.

If you are going for realm first, yes. Otherwise, if you just want to play casually and parse 95+, not that hard. Cannot say for PvP ranking. Looks like it won't be too difficult.

What if World Buffs was a toggle in raid that guild members could collect and the raid leader can activate in raid? Same interface as ICC, but only available if you have raid members who have completed the quests. And they persist through death while in the instance.

World buffs simply need to removed at this point. They're being used outside of their original intention and the fact they had to implement an item that makes it so you basically always have them makes them redundent. They trvialized a lot of content in original Classic and the end game of SoD just being people running around getting world buffs make this utterly boring

You can't have it both ways. P2 was released in Feb and 3 in April so two months. With that you have 3 months for P3 to P4. So where is your happy spot, 2 months 4 days?

Can someone tell me whether i can catch up with runes gear and level because i left SoD on lvl 40. People were not accepting lesser geared characters so i left the game. 1. Do we have people that still play dungeons and raids from past phases? 2. Can i really catch up on the latest phase and be accepted in raids? Do people still play sod?

Pretty much all those people who didn't invite u left when cata dropped. Ever since its been easy to get any character into anything if u had buffs and knew the bosses u were in. Right now is kind of your last chance to catch up. My advice is to use the incursions before theyr are gone in phase 4 u can go from 40 to 50 Ina few hours. Then u can experience any raid u like untill phase 4.

im confused is none of the raids are every 3 days, why did they say they are?

P4 looks nice. Let's see how it goes. Want to do big numbers on my Rogue.

I’ll be hoping back into sod It will be refreshing to attune for Mc and ony and it will be fun to get the new set variants definitely getting my shaman ele set and my warrior

Sod died to me once the integrity was ruined. Skipped s3 so makes it that much less likey to return unless everyone started from scratch.

Doesn't mean more people running dungeons it means it will be harder to get into dungeons to get gear as you will only be able to do a skip run for the currency. I have not seen 1 video that has made me think of returning to SOD. they destroyed this game when they took a massive dump on PVP, I will be very surprised if the servers are not dead in a month tops, screw wasting all that time and effort just for another dead server when i am having so much fun in cata as is literally everyone else

They promised that they are going to finally make a version of the game that it is actually "different" without the usual trash chores and silly nerfs that ruin the fun for many classes and specs but then they got greedy and ruined everything to gatekeep the players only to want to reconstruct it again so that they can finally ruin it again. There is no salvation for a company that lives solely for the "new goldmine" to exploit. If they will ever make something that will remotely look any fun then expect them to ruin it soon for profit.

I would start over for p4 but I don’t want to spend ages collecting all runes.

Druid T0,5 is still bugged and has it's shoulders positioned wrongly on the left side of the character... I reported the bug for 6 years and the bug still persists. Damn, that is bad :(

I just can’t chase world buffs, that is the main reason I won’t be playing SoD. They should just have a NPC distributing world buffs on a cooldown. I know it’s part of classic, but that’s why I won’t be playing. Have fun everyone!

Just give alternate ways of acquiring them. Someone in the thread mentioned doing full buffed boons as a reward for dungeon currency. Keeps dungeons relevant "forever" and doesn't require using half a dozen summoning bots twice a week.

They should just make the world buffs like priest meditations, that you can just pass them around to anyone you want

Uppside to WB’s: - Players get a ”fun” power spike and big numbers. - Blizzard can make up for bad class balance. - Collecting them could be fun and thrilling IF you remove the chronoboon (even if that makes it so that you have to raidlog). Downsides of WB’s: - Weekly tedious chore that gives 0 dopamines and basically only cost time and/or gold for summon and a cleared instance. So you might aswell be able to buy them from a vendor. - Makes deaths and wipes unnecessarily punishing for everyone. Imagine if you could just rebuff and still be able to do good parses after a wipe… - Makes content far to easy and borring since everything has to be tuned for a raid without WB’s. - Creates a toxic community where even the casuals are forced to put in several hours of gameplay just to be able to join a PUG. Im 100% sure that if they removed the effect of WB’s from raids it would do NOTHING bad for the community.

I have a strong feeling the Horde will dominate AV. Ele shams will be stopping all in their track at the choke point after Field of Strife. They simply put down earth bind totems which now roots people in place, and simply unload their lava bursts and chain lightnings. Only paladins will have shot at getting past, and rogues and druids in stealth

Still think it funny how World Buffs like atomize people. 😂 Like if you got rekt by that, imo you need to stop playing elfen ring and go have fun in your life. And plag Skyrim abd just go, fun.

No thanks to world buffs. Gold given to friends who do enjoy them, and i uninstalled SoD. Consumes are annoying enough. Don't have time to farm hours for gold and now buffs every week on a seasonal server. Gonna just play through dawntrail i guess till TWW. Shame, this and cata was great while it lasted.

Dawntrail just dropped. Fuck this failed experiment.

I wanna check this out, I played the other phases but fuck TWW is so soon whose got time for the mess that is SOD

i think we need LESS world buff, not more wouldn't say spending 2 hours collecting buffs before every raid is good gameplay

p4 150k users max and sfor a short time, SOD is done.

Season of "Discovery" died with P2, when interesting new stuff stopped like new specs and interesting runes easy enough to find through individual discovery ceased come in. Instead, Blizzard brilliantly decided "Let's add more of the same, and repeat all the shit that made WoW an increasingly repetitive, toxic and unfun game over the years." WoW team makes me think that they can only create good gameplay by mistake, and they "correct" it by doing the "right things" they can't or refuse to unlearn.

I will play phase 4. But I'm a bit gutted the game has moved away from the more casual feeling of phase 1. I think moving away from 10 man raids has hurt the more casual playerbase, as well as the content "drought" as it were, has killed off most casuals leaving behind the more hard-core players. The fact that logs are needed for any raid now is just a big turn off for any casual.

Dude you gotta shorten the sponsor reads that was nuts...

i Hope Blizz bring us the Old alterac back ... this Rushing to the Endboss is the biggest BS ever existed.

Finally! Some HIDDEN stuff, where everything is just known right as the patch notes drop has been super annoying for many many years now

The current meta for leveling is incursions and those give pretty good gold and very good exp. That said, it's caused some serious inflation. Will be interesting to see how things settle. I think a lot of people are sitting on tons of mats and the pricing we are seeing isn't really moving right now. I simply can't imagine arcane crystals holding at 100+ gold a piece, for example. I'd consider playing a class/spec that doesn't have a ton of expensive consumes. At the end of the day, that's where your money goes. Outside of that you have the mount gold sink and I guess the tier 0 gold sink, and of course a small gold sink with naxx, but it remains to be seen when that is happening.

Really not a fan of scaling raids. It may seem silly but just the fact that the button to change difficulty exists removes A LOT of the emerson for me and just reminds me that I am in fact playing a video game

So they are giving warriors a version of Dragonslayer from a spellbook. Why not give other classes castable world buff spellbooks and stop all the needless running around. Maybe make the book drop off the content that provides it. Warrior book drops from Onyxia. Maybe the Rend buff drop from him for both shamans and paladin. Have the ZG buff drop for Cloth casters to learn. The different DM buffs could drop for Hunters Rogues. Maybe druids provide Songflower. Could make them have fairly long cds so if you lose them you cant just rebuff immediately....or not. It is SoD after all.

Put a quest for each world buff in the game, it's repeatable and takes place where you can normally get said world buff. Then put an NPC in the game at Stormwind and Ogrimar where turning in the reward for the repeatable quest causes that World Buff to be cast over the entire city like Rallying Cry of the Dragon Slayer. All World Buffs have the same time duration too.

I would play SOD only if its the last version of WOW available, no thxxxx

Yeah, it’s huge-ly DISAPPOINTING.

Personally I find WB ruin the game. Having it basically be a requirement for raiding especially prog but then when on farm for faster clears. Then the moment you die or heaven forbid the raid dies. Moral is completely shot and you have nothing but pissy dads complaining about how long things take to die and how their parse is fucked. I just don't see how this fosters a good culture. But that's just my experience and opinion on it. I get why people like to see the power of their character go up as well as their dps/heal output.

SoD has been a huge disappointment for me personally, and looks like it will continue to be. It was marketed as Classic+ but it's fallen short and they are focusing on the wrong stuff imo. I really wanted a focus on adding new quests, questing areas in existing zones, bringing in the zones that were left out of vanilla, more new dungeons.

@@chessiecat7860 They don't need to be done the way the expansions did them. They could add grim batol as a quest hub or raid instead of a 5 man and have completely different bosses. Hyjal could be done completely differently too. They could add what Azuremist and Bloodmist isles were before the Draenei crashed and changed them. Or they could come up with more completely new content like the empty zones on the world map that are Impassable terrain currently, or the depths of timbermaw hold. As for "what do you do after that content" we are playing an almost 20 year old game where the content has all been done over and over anyway. That isn't a good reason not to add more.

Should be able to get a currency from doing dungeons to buy world buffs inside the raid …..

So many entitled people complaining about an extra seasonal game-mode that they get ontop of their WoW subscription for no additional cost. If Netflix has a show you don't like, just don't watch it. If Netflix doesn't have enough shows you like to make the subscription worth it, unsubscribe. People act like Blizzard is the government or some shit and forget they don't HAVE to play.

people complain because they wanna see change. whether the complaints are respectful or not is another thing, most of them are, a lot of them aren't; but complacency is such a miserable way to live, imo. I know we're talking about a dumb extra seasonal game-mode, but still, if you don't like something about something you care about it's very much valid to express this and lobby for a change, as is not saying anything and simply moving on. that said some ppl take it to an unhealthy extreme lol

We asked for other specs to be viable, get rid of tedious grinds, and introduce some quality of life changes. What we got is a retail version of classic with minimal quality of life changes. Glad i stoped playing this trash after phase 1. Had my fun and got out before Blizz wasted my time.

Adding increasing difficulty in MC is definitely the worst thing that they are adding. Multiple difficulties in raids is one of the main reasons people became disillusioned by retail wow, sad to see classic being corrupted by the same design philosophy.

Then has you walk all the way to darkshore, only to sen you back to stormwind on the other continent, and then sends u back to ashenvale eventually if i remember right. What would you call that? Seems like a huge fuckin waste of my time if u ask me.

Remove world buffs or have a limit of 1 World buff at a time.. only reason why i stopped playing classic is because of the abuse of World buff and that you must have em in every raid because of the sweatlords..

The world buffs alone just turns me off the game

Genuine question. Ppl still play SoD? My entire friends group like 12 ppl i know irl all started p1 together. I quit in P2 and the last stragglers quit beginning of phase 3 with no talk of returning. I can imagine we are not unique in this feeling. None of these 'features' are giving me the urge to play again. its just another treadmill

meh took way too long. guild disbanded already and don’t wanna find a new one. Well tbh I‘m disappointed as well…I‘m back to the waiting room and wait for a proper Classic+. In the meantime I‘m playing Turtle WoW whenever I get the itch and eagerly await Turtle WoW 2.0 (supposed to drop the news on 07.07.2024)

It would be cool imo if there was an item that allowed you to share raid buffs with specifically guild members in your raid. So only one person has to go and get the world buffs, then they can share them with the whole raid, and it encourages people to survive a wipe to keep the buffs alive for everyone else in the raid.

I was pretty excited about twice a week MC. I imagine doing one lockout one high heat and one on low heat to catch up alts and less geared players. As far as world buffs. Let's just do one per phase, from the level up raid.

Several days late

A lot of this sounds cool, but then you remember the world buff slog, the insane prices of consumes, and resistance gear grind. Then you realise actually this kinda sucks

I don't mind having more resets to raids at all. If you cannot spend more than a few hours a week, an mmorpg really isn't the type of game you should be playing in the first place. Just results in raidlogging and dead servers. Could do pvp on the side but, since it's completely busted with no hint of a proper fix since launch... i don't see that happening.

The entire point of sod was too add stuff to classic. It was my understanding that vanilla had the most replayability. All old methods still work. Just do those sense you are a classic player right......?

Your anti world buff retoric is getting tired. You've highlighted them excessively on any classic content like a dog with a bone. Contact anyone with a pro WB stance and try evolve this stagnant stance you have. There are a laundry list of positives.

Devs nerf the raid bosses and buff the players to make things easy . Content should be a challenge nòt a cakewalk. Blizz got their subs up for a few months with this version of classic wow.

WoW classic is supposed to be time consuming and luck-based, not difficult. Steady progression that gets boosted in its trajectory by lucky drops and circumstances in your favor. If you want difficulty, go retail.

I am so satisfied. Everyone thought i was dumb, when i said in p1 that this is just retail in the classic engine and it suxx. The developer are such idiots. They need to pay bsck all what they got since release. Useless npcs.
