And that’s why 40 man’s are a bad idea. I much prefer 20 man’s because you get a balance of knowing everyone in the raid but also have a lot of class variety to work with. With the state of the game I think 40 man’s would start filling the grave with dirt.

its only difficult if you got extreme casuals/inconsistent raiders. join an actual guild that has like minded people and its a breeze.

No world buffs will make the raids so much healthier. Having to tune bosses around 30% more performance is too hard and overly punishing

Yup makes also playing not such a huge chore. I was one of the few that raided until the end in SoM and absolutely no one complained about the absence of world buffs. Takes away the stress to get them and the anger if you loose them and cant parse anymore. And all that yapping that they add "social" factor to the game is pure bs

I completely agree with this. But I don't think theyll drop world buffs because they did that in SoM and it was received poorly. Just means that the world buff hardmode meta will be strong. I just want them to change how world buffs work if that's the case. Give tokens from instance end bosses and have a world buff vendor at the entrance of the raid or something

Make it remove world buffs and drop exact same gear. No extra gear. No special gear. Just funny cool items. Not gear. Make toys. Not gear.

I love classic, but I discovered I actually hate the end game world buff stacking and restistance gear grinding.

Honestly they need to keep going SoD into TBC and create a sort of old school runescape version of the game.

Nothing wrong with harder content! Give us something to strive for. Like you said maybe offer another gear drop for it but not better just an extra piece. Or maybe some type of cosmetic enchant glow? Because obviously the game needs something for people to stay hooked and maybe if a challenge is in the game the population will stay longer

Exactly. People crying about this like its going to be mythic level raiding. This is Classic. & people want more rewards for more risk/difficulty (wow who could have thought they'd want an incentive?!). It doesn't have to be higher ilvl loot, there's plenty of ways to do it.

​@@MrDCHunharder modes are why so many people have left For the casuals which is what sod was originally aiming at. The whole point was for it to be classic with a few tweaks. Which these tweaks just happen to give the try hards certain exploits like gold glitching quests that over pay. The casuals who were already struggling now have to over pay on the same items the try hards need because neither your own guild nor pugs will deal with u if you have anything less then everything the top guilds are using. Ur broke because spending 50g on buffs hurts when u didn't get to farm 1000s on the first night due to oversight. They need to start over.... Again....

Ppl are just done with p3 and I don't blame them, it was boring and dead even before Cata launched. And now we have to wait till mid July at the very earliest. Ok but there are tryhards and casuals in every game. Just cause you can't keep up with others doesn't mean you take the fun away from people who can keep up. I mean you're playing an MMO, and you're playing the version of WoW that take preparation, effort, etc into account A LOT more than any other expansion. Its why everyone loves Classic, the nostalgia and slow pace makes for even more fun. The only big problem Blizz did was incursions. That was dumb and broke a lot of the economy. That isn't on the players though, thats just Blizz doing Blizz typical things.

@@MrDCHun I didn't play Catan back then and I have no interest in it now. You said all that just to agree with what I said in the end. It's a lot bigger of a deal than u want it to be. The over tuned raid which costs almost 50-100 gold in consumes with the time sink of world buffs and u still probably weren't able to beat ST if u were casual. Incursions jacked the economy the raid killed people's motivation and banning gdkp's at the same time it was a complete storm of gold in for players with nothing to spend on. For p4 this shit is finally set to being dailies? Like nah believe what u want in the end. No one's coming back to start again in the middle of summer when the ones who stayed and never missed a beat will have such a disparity that we don't even see a way possible to compete. Funny how In the first 2 phases the game was mega popular and people like me quit by the 3rd week of P3 because it just felt ridiculous. Obviously I'm not the only one because I got back on my server recently and the shit is dead. Glad u try hards had to ruin the idea of a new classic era. U got what u wanted and the servers are dead again. Go figure.

@@MrDCHun there is no preparation for the new phases. They added so much that if u follow ur plan during the phase launch u will for sure end up behind. Incursions completely made this no longer classic or about classic. Remember a classic quest that gave u a sweet item? Well skip it because u can just run a million incursions and buy everything u need from the a.h.

Competing for world bosses in 2019 classic was kinda awesome, have a lot of fond memories around the effort we all put in. Scouts alert the guild, everyone jumps online, and we battle it out with the enemy faction. The resulting open world, large scale PvP was incredible.

Phase 4 is sounding like a lot of fun. I'm excited for it.

wotlk raiding was so chill because of no world buffs. I pumped as a brown warrior in classic but i cant be bothered to do that every single raid night

And if you chose PVP by whatever reason you had a miserable time. Even on PVE servers it was very different than actual vanilla because everyone was hyper focuse 15:35 15:35 d on meta items and bis which they never were before

Im already doing my first char on SOD - currently level 41, im having fun even with the current "dead" playerbase.. I like the class changes and additions.. :)

I wonder if SoD will continue like classic does? Will we go into TBC later?

World bosses were the most fun I had in classic. Rolling in and sappering the alliance down and taking the tag, spam sheeping the griefing ally, and MC'ing them off of ledges. Great mix of PvP and PvE, I even like making all the summoning alts and parking them around the world. TBF SoD hasn't been for me quit the game when most of my friends did so I'm not that invested.

I miss playing SoD. I stopped at phase 1 because I had no time, but I might buy a character boost and get my rogue up to speed to try out the end content in phase 4. We'll see.

Nah just lvl it,with 300% exp boost + duskwood and ashenvale inc you are done in under 24h

SoD raiding will always be a headache and will make progression near impossible when you have multiple world buffs and tons of stackable consumes. Limiting consume stacking and only 1 world buff would go a long way to making the raid content more able to be tuned well for prog while also being less of a headache and chore to prep for

I genuinely dont understand how people can find this fun. When wow came out and was pretty new, there was no game like it to top it off. Nowadays, there are countless better options that respect your time as a human being. Why would anybody still relegate themselves to this torture? Whats fun about wasting hours upon hours farming consumables, world buffs, levels, gear, all to do a shitty dungeon with a bunch of oversensitive sweaty neckbeards? I have played a lot of games, A LOT, and i can confirm the wow community is one of the worst. The most rancid toxic fckers are in this game, to put in all this effort and time just to be able to play with the biggest bunch of losers on the internet is mind boggling to me nowadays.

It's almost as if the updates in SoD are way lackluster compared to phase 1. Almost as if Blizz has ONE TEAM that handles SoD and cata classic for SOME reason

Tarisland in 2 Days highkey doesnt look terrible, lowkey excited for Phase 4 but man i hope Blizzard keeps SOD going cause its a great idea and they should add more of it

As someone who has zero interest in retail or cata, i'm super excited. However i do think a "less changes" version would've worked better without the level gating with raids. Just balancing to make speccs usable and giving few spells to specs that really needed it, like taunts.

For me personally having multiple difficulty modes is extremely dissapointing. SoD is further and further away from the classic spirit. Hopefully they add servers which cycle through vanilla on repeat and call it a day

Repeated vanilla cycles are great, but if they are back to back, they will very small populations. they need to keep fresh cycles spaced out to keep interest higher.

If they actually implemented a complete raid meta without any wbuffs at all… just remove all wbuffs at lvl 60 my boys and I would come back to SoD

Haven't played sod since the first week, might give it another shot since cata has slowed down with nothing to do and cbf with remix

I’m gonna try it out for sure. I still wish we had 10 man raiding for all raids. BFD and gnomer were perfect for my friends. But none of us are interested in organizing 20 mans or 40 mans in classic again. I’m not saying get rid of those either. I’m just saying that 10 mans were working out super well for a lot of people, and it’s not surprising that those people quit SOD when phase 3 came out

I wanna play SOD but the servers are with low population and Im afraid when I wanna try the dungeons there will be few people interested, you know that to go through the dungeons you have to physically go to the place and I'm not sure if there are still players who are willing to do that, especially in low level dungeons like Deadmines. Hell yeah! I rather sit back and give the SoD team time to concertate on phase 4 release, and release something special that will be remembered! I think it's a great idea that they add for example a legendary weapon for every class at some point, so that those players who truly put enough time and effort into the game can one day get their dream item. It doesn't have to be a legendary, for example BoeD from Mara was so much better then the 2nd BIS wep for caster's, that it really made you top the meters and also not have to worry about mana.

One of the thing that killed the fun in classic for me was the "need" for buffs and SoD is heading in that direction. Just remove them for max level and keep it casual.

Yep world buffs are stupid. You wiped once in a raid ? Well enjoy your 80 % parse max. The main point of wow is that you are never loosing. Even if you wipe , you maybe waste 15 minutes to go back to the raid , some good time to re explain strat etc etc. It is not supposed to make the rest of the raid less enjoyable. Because that's what world buff do , they make big numbers and are satisfying. If you die once , you loose that satisfaction...

But the game would be far better without world buff. Far more welcoming to beginners and way less sweaty. And I say that while parsing 98+ on every boss.

Theres a 150% exp buff at the moment, so its not impossible, though finding others to assist will be difficult because incursions are still too efficient

If you haven’t leveled yet you’re already behind. That being said, who gives a shit how you level, just play the game and enjoy it.

I know difficulty levels are most likely the best way to go, but it still makes raiding less attractive for me. Lower difficulties feel meaningless, higher difficulties are a chore. And since world buffs are such a big thing in vanilla, trying over and over again is really frustrating. I stopped early phase 3, don't think I will be coming back for 4 =/

Shadowpriest is tricky, lackluster in pve. But a murder machine in pvp. So all buffs needs to be pve focued without boosting its pvp :D

You cant replay vanilla. Is not possible. Vanilla feeling you will only get if you never played the game before. I used 9 months in Vanilla to reach lvl 60. I had no clue what it was doing. Mouse clicking, no addons or macros. Only guide i used was tootboth to help with quests i was stuck on.

Stop giving us multiple difficulties. One of the thing i love about classic is the fact that a raid is a raid, and not split between 2-3 different difficulties. But thats just my opinion anyways

the heat levels are for those who are unhappy with the ultra ez raids blizzard have made so far that caters to the bottom of the barrel. people with no skill have no business doing raids, but if they insist, then sure you go and do the ez mode so you're not left out, but those of us with higher ambitions are going to do the harder difficulties and get our just reward for doing so. whether that is better loot or increased quantity of loot remains to be seen, but the best option would be increased quantity.

Hardmodes in Classic... Blizzard just fundamentally doesn't understand why people like classic

Blizzard doesnt want you playing classic, they are trying to get people to go play retail by giving people essentially retail in a classic skin as a wolf in sheep's clothing... I hate it, but it is what they are doing...

This is LITERALLY what a sizable portion of the community asked for like wtf are you even talking about bud? If you want the classic experience than SoD was NEVER EVER made for you, I don't understand why you people are still crying so many months later as if SoD is gonna do a 180 on their philosophy. Go play Turtle WoW and don't come back because the constant crying is counterproductive to everyone in the community.

@@Giliver A sizable portion of the community that already plays retail... Go play retail... Classic players dont want retail, or we would already be playing it... Retail players have their retail, if you like that style, then you have your game for that. What you are saying is "we want 2 games, you dont get any new content for yours". SoD is CLASSIC, made by the classic team, as the product for the classic audience at this time. But unfortunately it seems to be a Trojan horse at this point...

​@@Giliverto be fair, a large part of the community just wanted quest chains added and finished up, new zones opened (uldum/hyjal/emerald dream) and gear to make off specs viable. I am one of those people

SoD got me back into healing which is pretty cool, i always found it extremely dsunt after i stopped healing in MoP but now im having fun. Its been especially fun in group PvP where i feel like im legitimately carrying my team. (Popping my epic crafted helm effect makes me feel like a god healer, its so cool!)

do you think if SM wings or BRD had been the raid for P3 it would have been a hit?

Phase 3 had both me and my brother quit, I don't think we're the only ones. Good luck but the curse has been lifted thanks for an awful experience blizzard!

stopped playing p3 because of the raid nerfs Having the ability to chose the raid difficulty is very nice, and will most likely only upset the "I need to have every best piece of gear at all costs" type of people, that dont want to actually put in extra work for it. More freedom = good

Not a fan of different difficulties. If I wanted that I'd go back to retail. This will just create even more micro managing of buffs and some gimmick as mentioned with the fire resist. Just let people have mindless fun.

Different difficulties , if it is well done is very good. Look at Ulduar or Sartharion for exemple. It was just great.

@@fanofcodd Is that why half the playerbase quit in wotlk classic when ulduar went live? Fact is, majority of players want easy raids as a form of socializing while gaming, that is what classic should be

World Buffs need to completely go for the sake of raid balancing. Or maybe JUST the head buff n that's it.

Cant see me having the time to commit to p4, its a full time job getting all the pre-bis and bis, all the consumes every week, keeping up with gold collecting buffs, just not enough time, especially when all raids will be out. i will check it out but prob play v casually.

No exp boost anymore. Its classic not retail.

giga brain blizzard buffing elemental shaman to the moon and at the same time nerfing enhancement into the dirt. if you were hoping for less elemental shamans in phase 4 you're about to be very negatively surprised.

They have killed SOD in favor of microtransactions

Sorry I don’t want to go do all the old raids again with some buffs to make them harder… just leave them as Is or make new areas in them. We want to see the unfinished parts of classic wow finished and to the spirit of what classic wow is to the player base.

They need to literally add NEW content. Zones, classes, and everything. "Expansions" aren't it. They have to keep the same exact system as Vanilla but with more content. Not just new gear and abilities.

Please for the love of all that is holy, fix world buffs. The issue with losing world buffs after death really cause more gatekeeping. Please allow them to persist through death, or make it into some type of consumable.

Modern player base is not adapted to that. It was okay in 2005 and was designed for 2005 players. Not 2024 players.

They continue to steer the ship in the wrong direction. They need to go back to basics for any future Classic project.

How about a shaman version of Atiesh? There should have been one to begin with. 5 classes can use staves, one of them being warrior that lacks mana and giving them a 3rd legendary is silly. Meanwhile every other caster gets a unique Atiesh. The only legendary shaman can even use is hand of rag, and it is a complete waste on the worst shaman spec.
