Raised base plates really needs a come back. They just add so much volume to sets while keeping the piece count down. I discovered your "Revisiting Series" just a few days ago and its one of the best video formats about LEGO I have ever seen! First of all the video qualitiy is amazing. The lighting, the background music, the camera work it does those good old sets more than justice. Whats even better is that its not just a detailed review of EVERY set from each wave. But its more than that the trivia like the story or bricklink prices etc. makes this 10x better. Its like watching a documentary about the good times when LEGO was great and life was easier. I loved the LEGO homemade Themes like Powerminers as a kid and the creative and funny play ideas it gave me. I now I love those Themes for their distinct look and for the admirable creativity that was put in their development. I really hope you continue this series its so great :D (hopeing to see 2006 AquaRaiders or Atlantis... Man the 2000-2010 time was really awsome)

Only missing one Aqua Raiders set (the big one unfortunately) and I'm actually planning on getting the last parts I need for wave one Atlantis today!
I actually adored this theme so much that I wrote an awful, 300 page long novel back in 2012 (I was 13 at the time) where I based the characters off of these heroes, including their names, lol. Jake Raines was a journalist in London, and Prof. Archibald Hale was his stepfather. He had to travel to Egypt to write an article, so they met a pilot called Mac McCloud. Their plane crashed, Jake's leg broke, and after the recovery, they had to get home. Due to there being a mysterious storm in the world for weeks, it wasn't as easy as just taking a plane home (lol, that's just lazy writing), so they had to find a way home. That's when I completely changed where the novel was going: they met Helena Skvalling, who was a secret agent on a mission against the evil Dr. Inferno (yeah, from Lego Agents), whose plan was to use magnetic satellite power (whatever that means) to corrupt all electricity on Earth, only leaving out a small area of his, thus making him the only human with electricity, and making him a god. The constant storm was a side effect of these magnetic powers, for some reason. So the 3 guys joined the secret agents, and our 4 heroes had to fight against the evil Dr. Inferno (whose twin brother was the head of this agency). Oh, thank you so much for reminding me of my awful novel from my childhood! No jokes, it's so nostalgic! The first people I showed it to were my grandparents, who are no longer with us, they were so supportive, and this just took me on an emotional journey!

Fantastic showcasing of this short lived theme! Pharaoh’s Quest definitely seems to The Adventurers theme, as “The Mummy” is to “Indiana Jones”. While it never grabbed me quite like Adventurers (due in no small part to the extravagant desert monster inclusions), I’ve always respected it. Presently I only have 7306: Golden Staff Guardians, though I can definitely see myself picking up more as time goes on. On the topic of Mac McCloud, I think he most corresponds to the Adventurers’ pilot Harry Cane. Short of The Adventurers returning, I wouldn’t mind seeing another series like this, pop up again… though I fear such may not come to pass until Indiana Jones has come and gone again (I truly do love Indy, just not to the exclusion of first-party IP).

Though I’ve never owned any of the sets I’ve always wanted to since I was a kid so I have lots of second hand nostalgia for them. i remember christmas 2011, when these sets were all the rage, and my male cousin got the big pyramid set while i got the small $10 set with the motorcycle. I remember being so absolutely jealous of my cousin, as this was not the first incident of him getting the big important set of a theme and me getting a tiny afterthought set, or straight up no legos at all. this trend only changed when i was a teenager and I got a couple modular sets for christmas a few years in a row while my older cousin got more "adult" gifts like gift cards or new electronics. But then i had to get rid of my whole lego collection and donate them to my way younger cousins because they were taking too much space and it was truly a sad day having to pack up all of that stuff only to find out years later they just sit in a box unused bc my cousins only play on their ipads or xbox 360. this video unlocked so many childhood memories, it's insane!
I was quite young when this was coming out and I remember this vividly, I only got scarab attack but everytime I see these Sets I wish I had got more, this theme slapped

It really was great. Wish I had gotten these when I was younger too!
This line was my favorite while it was out, and I still have fond feelings for it. I remember my initial reason for wanting it was because it featured an old-fashioned biplane, and I was jealous of my older brother's biplane that he got in that snowy Adventurers set shown in the video. Surprisingly, the only set I never got my hands on was the Scarab Attack one. I've been meaning to buy one on the aftermarket for years now
i loved these sets, i had the first 3 and i distinctively remember taking the thing off the bottom of my plane and just using as a ww1 fighter, also something i found funny is i had that same hospital that used the raised baseplate
I love this line so much! Played the game on the lego website everyday for years!!
I used to love that theme, I fawned over the sets in store! I only ever got the one with the flying mummies, though.
Absolutely one of my favorite childhood themes. Me and my brother would play with our planes and flying mummies, do the online game, and even make our own comics on the Lego website. It really is crazy how much this means to fans for only having one wave.
Thanks for covering this theme it was one of my favorites from my childhood although I never got a set

I definitely had my 'dream themes' too - spending way too much time drooling over LEGO catalogues.
something you might not've noticed is the way the golden sword/khopesh is held (around 17:40) is clearly reminiscent of the Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Makes sense since both this theme and the original Adventurers are very much inspired by Indiana Jones
@CheeseyStudios

Definitely some inspiration there, and I love it!
Could we get a complete collection video one day? You truly amaze me with all the older themes you seem to have completed, it’s hard to keep track of it

Unfortunately I'm constantly rebuilding and parting out 😪 I've never had everything all put together at once. I'd recommend watching my studio tour though if you haven't already!
Hello, I just watched a lot of your videos about Lego series and sets between 2000 and 2010. You really have some very nice treasures, congratulations! Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to future videos! Best regards, Martin from Dresden (Germany) 🙋🏻♂️

When I was a kid I was really into Egypt stuff and I remember getting the battlepack and garden set and scarab, and I remember for sure I got the battle pack at the gift shop of the king tut museum while it was in my city :)

That's super cool! I loved ancient Egypt too as a kid. Really makes me wonder how I missed this theme back then
Your blowing up cheesy! Love to see it, and who could forget about Pharos quest!
Be either Adventurers, Indiana Jones or Pharaoh's Quest, I love these adventure archeology-based themes! They are so full of charm and details. It's really a shame I don't posses anyone, although I'm in Japan now for a month and a half, and I'm planning to go to the LEGO discovery center's shop, which seems larger than an usual LEGO shop, so maybe there is some hope! I think you can download the Pharaoh's Quest comic, I downloaded it years ago in my native Spanish, I think, it was very interesting n_n
I got the scarab beetle and the cursed cobra back when I was a kid. Loved that cobra, it was so fun how it was so moveable. It also gave me all those ball joints that I later used for a very important moc.

I absolutely loved this theme as a kid, even though I only ever got Scarab Attack I think. It's really interesting to learn that some of my old favorite themes were reboots or inspired by older themes. Learning about Rock Raiders was another one that quite surprised me since I loved Power Miners a lot. But even beyond that it's nice to reminisce about things from my childhood.

The LEGO lore runs deep, that's for sure! I love that the small sets from this theme in particular were so good. Even just having one set gave you a ton to do as a kid!
This theme is so OG, just like the pirate and castle themes.

It's right up there, yeah! Ah, you make me want pirates now xD
So, bit of a headcanon - Jake Raines is actually Jonny Thunder's grand-nephew who wants to live up to his grand-uncle's legacy, but doesn't _quite_ have it in him. He's still competent in his own right, but he overestimates his abilities and tries to pull off feats that would match those of Jonny, only to get in over his head. And his temper comes from being unable to accept that, while he's still quite the explorer in his own right, he needs to stop trying to be someone he isn't.

I can get behind this bit of lore!
great summary! I have completely forgotten about this series and love seeing all of the sets in one video! many thanks. btw: is the music in the back from stronghold crusader by chance? :)

Thank you! I don't think the music is, but maybe??? It's just stuff I grabbed from the free KZread library: 1) The Arid Land - Sir Cubworth 2) Desert Caravan - Aaron Kenny 3) Calcutta Sunset - E's Jammy Jams

I remember this! I was obsessed with the lego flash games on their website and one day I see a new product section, and I was amazed with the idea of the sets and the story, kind of sad looking at it now that nothing came of it.

Man, that's all I used to do with my free time too - just browse LEGO.com for cool things. They had us kids well and truly hooked, ha!
It's fun to see one of my favorite lego themes be talked about as when I was a kid I loved this theme and couldn't get, but now I can and so far I have four out of six and all of them were new😅

Same, I only got one set back in the day (the plane) and I really regret not having purchased more. Regret is a terrible thing. It eats away at you. This is another making video. You make spectacular content.
4:32 This was the only set from this wave i got as a kid. I still have the figs, staff, and bike from it. Accessories too

I love this theme for how it combined the aesthetics of Adventure with the style of Ben Fraser’s the mummy and just makes me wish that Lego did more original themes nowadays

Unlocked forgotten memories. You're right. This series came and went without much noise. Lego adventurers deserves a proper reboot. The Johnny Thunder Biplane was my first lego set.
Great video. I remember playing the online game associated with this.

I remember seeing these in stores back in the day. I sadly never got any but I wish I did. This is a very underrated theme and I would love for lego to redo this. I love this theme for everything. Great review on these sets

Thank you! It really is underrated. I never see or hear anything about this one. I had no idea how cool they were until I bought the sets!
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of these!!
Loved this theme as a kid. As a big indiana jones fan I loved this theme even without knowing about the previous theme. I have rebuilt the maroon half track into so many different types of cars and trucks and got so much use out of the pyramid raised baseplate for so many reasons.

I do somewhat remember this set, and i even tried to make the pyramid from pieces i had and i think i did something close. I loved making sets without buying them it made me improvise with what i had
