The eyes don't give you an ability and makes you a nen specialist. Kurapika could do that because he made a deal that when his eyes turn that color then he turns OP but he can only use his powers on the Spiders. It's like if I had nen and could make a contract like when my eyes are cross eyed I can do everything kurapika can but later my stomach hurts or something.

I'm fairly sure the explanation of the genocide was that the Kurta clan's eyes were very valued by collectors BEFORE the genocide, even more so because there would've been very few people who would've ever thought of killing them for it, but the Phantom Troupe, most likely Chrollo himself, had the idea of "Hey, this is something insanely valuable, if we kill them all, we would essentially control the whole market.", and so they killed them all and sold the eyes all across the world. At least that's the explanation that makes sense to me, I know that in the anime, it was never really fleshed out much, since events that take place before the show aren't generally brought up until they become relevant for the present, we've never really seen what Kurapika's life was like or what happened to the clan.

Shanae Johnson Hunter x Hunter started in 1998. Naruto started in 1999. The original Naruto pilot that was completely different to the rest of the series came out in 1997.

Well... for what its worth. HUNTER X HUNTER came out before Attack on Titan around '1997' or '1998' is when the manga "I think" was made, '1999' for the original anime . If I remeber right, Attack on Titan came out back in 2009. So Levi I "guess" if you go by technical standards, would be a "rip-off" of Feitan (not that it matters).

They're only really alike on surface level things. Both are usually composed, and are some the most dangerous people in their profession (Although Levi is confirmed to be the best soldier) and they like swords.

For anyone that wants to know more about why they killed the Kurtas *Spoiler of the Tome 0 on Kurapika here* Ok so basically in the tome 0 they introduce Kurapika's past a little before the Kurta massacre, and it ends when he left, leaving the Kurtas to get killed by the Phantom Troupe a few months later. They said at the end that a note was found, the same note that they talked about in the manga when introducing Meteor City: a vengeance note. It was basically saying "We take everything, but don't take anything back from us". We know Meteor City is all about violent vengeance. (When a homeless person from MC went to prison for a crime he didn't commit without a fair trial and killed himself, they later found the real suspect. So 31 people from MC blew up at the same time around the city to kill the 31 persons they thought were responsible for his death and they found that same note) To conclude, we don't know exactly why they did, except that it was vengeance in the name of Meteor City somehow and that they took the Scarlet Eyes for whatever reason. It was also extremely violent because they tortured and mutilated Kurtas that didn't have Scarlet Eyes to get the others angry before killing them. So whatever the Kurtas did to Meteor City, it must have been bad since they just killed all of them, no matter if they were innocents or not or even children. Togashi apparently stated that the Tome 0 on Kurapika was one side of the story, so hopefully, if we get to the end of HxH one day, we'll actually know why. But now we just know it was a vengeance to begin with.

Naruto copied hunter x Hunter. The HxH manga came before the naruto manga and before you say the Naruto manga came first, it didn’t. Only a short little panel thing (I don’t remember the details) came before the HxH manga. HxH came before Naruto so you can’t say Naruto copied HxH.
