Film Synopsis:
Set in the glamour of the 1950's post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are at the center of the British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock's life until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by the scariest curse of all…love.

Every gesture is eloquent.
they are both so toxic. through all the glamour and money, they are just some screwed up people. he's so neurotic and fragile, and she is so blinded and intoxicated by the glamour and they end up settling in a dance - periods where she makes him ill through poisoned food, so she gains control and the close companionship she wants, then she nurses him to health - so he's back to his controlling ways to carry out his genius which she loves, until it gets to be too much, then she poisons him again that is messed up . at first i felt bad for alma, but she clearly likes this arrangement. they're both kinda horrible people who fit perfectly
