Thank you a lot man, you save my life and make me love my car again! After 3 years owning the tiguan, brought it to dealerships for 10 times with lots of frustration but they even can’t sort that out. I finally fixed it by myself. The noise is totally goneeee!!

Great video. My 23 GLI is at the dealer for this sound for the second time. They are replacing the evap line. Hope it works this time or I'll have to do it myself.

pretty sure I'm having this problem on my 2021 gti, would've thought theyd fix this by now! having the dealer look at it tomorrow but if they won't do it for me I might have to give this a shot

I don’t think most of the dealerships even know about the rattle, let alone VW. Hopefully they can fix it. Point them to where it is. If they don’t, shoot some foam up into it. That’s what I would’ve done if I didn’t do this first.

@@JacesOwnWorld dealer managed to fix it! I told them I was pretty sure it was the fuel lines from seeing similar videos, and they were able to get it to happen on the lift so it was a quick fix

Hey, so in fishing them through you want them to go over the fuel line so when you cinch it down it pulls the line down to the bottom of that rail that contains the lines correct? Sorry I just want to make sure I have the right ideal. Considering foam but it seems like I’ll have a worse time doing the zip ties if I try foam first

Yes, you want the zip ties to cinch the fuel lines down to the rail.

Would this apply to also multiple other Audis/VW? I have this issue on 2012 A4 and now on the 2021 s4

Happens on the mk7 GLI as well. Gonna try fixing myself since the dealer put spray foam and it didn’t work.

This method works great, just pre bend the long zip tie to fish through other hole. I too have the gli

I have an English version and that crap noise drives me crazy . Mud guard behind the front wheel was loose - plastic plug came out, I fix that but the same story on the bumpy road , it is not 100% A/C issue or fan under the glow box , noise comes from out side and just wondering about spring bushing mount is gone. Car runs smooth , just passed NCT and tracking before hand was done. On the passenger side no fuel pipes in Eng. Version. I removed that guard from the floor too , going to put some foam sheets underneath to be sure that this stuff is not banging into the chessie.

Yeah, try the foam first, and see if it fixes the rattle. It sure is annoying.

thanks for the advice but it was something else :) I`m driving Volkswagens since 1991 and I was building cars from scratch and converting them few times . Anyway if you have dictaphone at home - use it . I left audio recorder inside, below glove box, then at the ABS pump and finally under wipers cover at the spring bushing mount and tested while driving each time. The issue was replaced spring mount last October (generally entire front and back suspension with the wishbones is new) This bloody mount from Redex cause the noise and had no signs of wear , I replaced into old one and now I have silence like in the church :D / BTW another story is water leak inside the car below pedals in the outer corner below bonnet handle- 100% it goes from the chamber where is whipper motor - going to find it out tomorrow because I have enough meadow on the floor - accelerator pedal bracket stuck with the plastic of the pedal because of corrosion and l had circus to remove it . Interior of my Golf looks like rally car now :)) @@JacesOwnWorld

@trollek100 @trollek100 oh yeah man, anything but OEM front strut mounts, and they seem to give so many issues with people. Mostly clunking and rattling sound issues. I just put all brand new suspension on my MK7 GTI, and went with OEM strut mounts and bearings, and there’s zero noises, where as with my BC Racing and ST XTA coilovers (that come with their own upper mounts, bearings, and camber plates), they were always noisy and clunky. Oh man that sucks about the water leakage! Hope you can remedy that.

I wonder if you can zip tie to an Anker that glue next to the holes

I’ve seen others do that as well. Tbh, that would be the fastest and easiest fix. My only concern with it would be if anything in there would ever need to be serviced in the future. It would be difficult to service anything if there was foam inside.

You and a lot of others. Hope this helps you. Some people buy sea foam and just shoot it up the hole. If I was going to do this job again, that’s probably what I would do instead of trying to fish the zip ties through, which was kind of difficult and frustrating.

Did you watch the video? I literally explained the rattle I had, and showed where it was coming from. There’s no way I was going to go for a drive, open my passenger car door while driving over bumps, and try to get the rattle sound on video for the one guy (you) who chose not to watch the video 🤣
