Dad lost his a right forearm from a grenade in 1942. He was a great believer in exercise and hard work and humor to overcome phantom pain, but it was worse in old age. He was nearly 100 when he died which was remarkable for someone who had such severe war injuries. When I came across this video I felt like he was in the room with me just out of sight

Hey man. I'm here from your audition from yes theory. You did great first off. And also, I'm not an amputee but I had an accident and I was out of the country. And the Dr that did surgery on me...didn't know much. Anyway, very long story short. I have lots of nerve damage in my leg and have no control of my foot. It just drops. I have no feeling on the front part of my leg and top of my foot. And I also get these feelings. It's been a year and 5 days exactly since my accident. 6 surgeries later. And I still haven't walked. But anyway, really just wanted to say hi and congratulations on winning.

I'm so sorry Adrian to hear about your leg and foot. I hope and pray that you get the feeling back and are able to walk but if not that you will still carry on and find a way my friend. Thank you so much, I appreciate it. :)

everytime i see situation like this, it reminds me of that House MD episode about the phantom limb treatment of Wilson's neighbour. Thank you for making me smile. It has been a pretty long and agonizing year.

I had a nerve severed in my face and am currently paralyzed in a specific area. My brain ended up rerouting the feeling to the top of my cheek so every time I touch that area, it feels like I’m touching under the right side of my bottom lip. Now when I have misfiring in said paralyzed part, I literally have to scratch a different part of my face in order for me to get relief. The nervous system is a truly fascinating thing. Of course, this doesn’t come without any drawbacks. I’m diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia so it’s pretty painful at times, but everyone has their own issues, and mine certainly aren’t going to drag me down. You’re a great inspiration!
