In my opinion, the effective fighter inventory for defensive and offensive posture for Philippine Air Force are: > 24 units KF 21 Boramae - starting 2027 to compete with other countries for stealth multirole > 48 units F-16V for air superiority role > 48 units FA-50 Block 20 for reconnaisance & interdiction role > 24 units JAS 39 Gripen E/F if granted by Sweden but if not 36 units of Hal Tejas Mk1 as fighter/bomber role

I just saw the fighter inventory of Philippine Air Force during the time of his father late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr which can be considered a credible defense and offense posture with over a hundred units with air superiority roles, interdiction and reconnaissance roles and fighter bombers roles. Hopefully this ambitious inventory will be materialized with PBBM so that our country can gain a foothold in terms of armed forces and not relying more in the US.

Wishful thinking? There is a lack of urgency in the legislature to grant more money to the afp. They're waiting for the second coming of Jesus to save them. The KF-21 is still undergoing testing, therefore, it is not combat ready. The F-16 is an outdated design. The FA-50 is not an interceptor, but 4 additional units should be under consideration as a stopgap fighter. I like 16 units of the Gripen E due to its short takeoff and landing ability if airfields were neutralized. Anti-ship and anti-aircraft batteries are more important. The Philippine archipelago should be treated as unsinkable ships bristling with missiles.

US is now training PAF for acquiring new MFRJ which American pilot help a lot to be familiar using High Tech air craft.

Paf should have partnership with DOST to acquire native capabilities.

Hoping for more air fighter jet

AFP should make a purchase already, Jas39 or F16 are both good MRF, but in terms of more spare parts available i would go for F16, and now there are a lot of countries that are decommissioning their F16, means more available aircraft we can purchase in the future, now Jas39 are also good in terms of operational cost is much cheaper! but components are hard to get! so we need to rely on Sweden for parts! but again both are the best MRF for us, for future aircraft we can go for the New SKorean Borome or the new Turkish TAI aircraft!

They can consider also 36 units of HAL Tejas Mk1A as it is capable to carry Brahmos NG missiles.

I hope we can get our Philippine friends F-35 s soon , since advanced stealth capabilities are so critical. When you can show up on the wing of an aircraft that wanders into your airspace without them even detecting you it’s a very powerful deterrent 🙂

Would there be chance they will creat Visayas and Mindanao Corridor? It seems that much of the benefits from the proposed investments will only benefit those who lives in the Luzon Island. I hope that the Government of the Philippines will give consideration for investments to flow to other areas of the country aswell. So that, there will be an inclusive growth and prosperity for every Filipino. And the Philippines as nation will become one of the key players for global trade in years to come.

Duterski was president for 6 years, and he did nothing for Mindanao. He was unable to even do any rehab of Marawi after it was trashed by Maute.

To see is to believe for MRF, alloted budget remains the same from 10 yrs ago which is only good for another dozen of fa50 trainer aircraft/light attacked

Philippines should create its own Missile and Drone Technology. There are many Bright Filipino Scientist and Engineers out there waiting and willing to take part. Filipino should not beholden on these false ironclad statement because at the end of the day US will not 100% come in the aid of our country.

As much as we want to, with below the belt minimum wage but high standard requirements for jobs, people with talents that wants to aim higher salary and comfortable living will always choose to go overseas to work. Philippines will stay as it is, there are some progress but don't expect much.

Better prioritize PH Coast Guard upgrade / modernization.

Buying want always do us good, as if war really happened when do we get our ammunition, missiles and equipment? War is all about attrition or who last longer especially we are surrounded by waters. We should focus more on defense industry having the ability to manufacture equipment, missiles and ammunition during war.

Before giving them anything please do an INTEGRITY CHECK and lifestyle check. We need to be sure that the weapons were giving them will not be used against us. There's money involved in these modernization programs and the tendency to overlook such crosscheck is similar to hitting ourselves with a brick.

May I suggest invest in more anti aircraft missile, surface to air and surface to surface aswell as anti ship and anti drone missile, we can not par in time with china in terms of aircraft and anti air capabilities..

I think our congress should he hasten the acquiring of f6v or jas 39 gripen c/d/f, submarines and more cruise missiles longrange surface to air missiles.

because the truth is the ph cant afford it even with 39 gripens the number is too low still and we aint even talking yet about how many ballistic missiles heck even the brahmos is not enough ph navys new frigates have few to none missiles of any type

The Philippine need to develop a drone technology same as what Ukraine did.

The historical rights of the Philippines and China's historical claim of 9 dash lines are invalid and what is being followed now is international law. It is not possible for you to make 9 dash lines on your map and say that it is in your law. If you follow your 9 dashline, can any country also draw it and put it in their law?
