Pfeilschiene (TongAh) and Thumb Ring by Pfeilsam.de

Just in case you just skip through this video and miss the safety advice:
Do NOT try this "Pfeilschiene" without proper instructions and only if you are a skilled archer! Done :)
Pfeilschiene (TongAh) and Thumb Ring by Arne Rehborn.
When I was at his really nice place at lake Bodensee, giving some thumb draw course, he gave me his hand made “Pfeilschiene” and one of his brass Korean thumb rings to test.
Btw. 6th and 7th of April 2024 we have the next courses there, so check them out!
The TongAh is sure not for everyone, you have to be careful. But after a bit of practice it is quite some fun.
The ring fits just perfect and works great. No problems of pinching skin somewhere. Just as it should be and for the price fully ok.
Thank you Arne for giving your items to me, I had fun testing them and will use them more.

Doesn't get much scarier than that. A korean bow too ❤️

That tongah is incredibly shallow, I'm not surprised people have injured themselves with it.

That bow is just so nice to see. Korean Bows, I need to get one. lol As for TongAh, it looks like something experiment for Pfeilsam. TongAh itself in current usage is gimmicky and most archers won't bother trying it. Folks in the comments giving warnings, the average viewer isn't gonna buy one. An experienced archer would gets intrigued by it, will research it before buying it and find one they'd like. Armin gives warning in the video, so ppl can get off his back for using it.

From what i've seen of the korean made tong-ahs, the head of the arrow snaps into and is larger than the open side channel so it cannot leave before reaching the end of the tong-ah

It's a lot of fun, I've also tried it and it didn't work at all, I think this method originated in Korea, but the speed and range of these little darts is unbelievably :D

I wonder how many bow hands have been skewered by errant arrows from this device? 120 euros for a stick with a groove sounds pretty painful too

Answer: Lots. Ended career in archery too. 🙄 I made a variation of this device with top cover to mitigate the possibility of the arrow jumping out, made out of aluminium. And even that, is still iffy. Bottom line is, this device is for the really good at archery. Even Armin acknowledged the inherent risk of using this device. Still cool though. I mean, it basically converts yours usual bow to launch crossbow bolts.

I just checked the Pfeilsame page and noticed the rings are made from bronze, not brass. Interesting. As for the TongAh. I was interested in them some time ago. But seeing the stress on the bow by the mini-arrows and the danger of piercing the bowhand, I rather won´t touch them.

Hello Armin, 1) I see in recent videos you tend to rest the arrow on your left index instead of the thumb. Do you see any advantage of that technique? 2) is your Chinese design shirt available for your enthusiastic asiatic archers followers? Have a great Sunday

please do not promote this, this is way too shallow for a tong-ah and you have many inexperienced archers watching your channel. for everyone watching that have not previous experience with tong-ah do not buy this. it is overpriced and dangerous. really dangerous.
